A colleague just asked me what I was up to over the weekend so I told her that of course I'd be "watching the mighty Gas". "Who's that", she asked? "Bristol Rovers of course!" She then proceeded to sing a rhyme/ditty I'd never heard before, which features several bizarre verses one of which makes reference to Bristol Rovers playing at home! It's all very strange but has anyone heard this before? Lyrics can be found here.

That reminds me of a (very similar) rhyme we used to say as primary school kids, something like
something about farts...the fart when rolling down the street, knocked a copper off his feet, the copper blew his rusty whistle, and blew the fart from here to Bristol, Bristol Rovers were playing at home, and kicked the fart from there to Rome, where Julius Caesar was drinking some gin, he opened his mouth and the fart went in.

I've printed off a hundred copies and I'll be passing them round the Thatchers End tomorrow. Sing up Gas!
