Did anyone know about the new bar in the corner of the West stand/South stand?
Yet again this was not mentioned on the FC website, so it probably meant a loss due to staffing costs, as few people actually knew about it!
Good idea though to offer fans an alternative to pasty hut fare. With the problem of midweek match traffic, it should be popular against Charlton.

And they've installed new metal gates into the car park behind the Dribuild AND built a new wooden fence between the Thachers end and the East terrace turnstiles.
Hopefully it's just to tidy the ground for the cople of years before we move to the UWE!

I think it's part of the 'championship ready' strategy....
the fact is that it is entirely possible that championship football could be at the mem with 11000 season tickets sold, it's a bloody good thing that we're preparing for any eventually, rather than look like a bunch of inept amateurs should the unthinkable materialise....

If it's unthinkable how are they thinking about it?? My brain hurts. We never had this problem when Higgs was here. He never thought about anything. WYHHB?

Sound thinking but why would we need new fences and gates if we get in the championship? And why do we need them now and not in 9 months time?

Surely it's just basic money making and making life a little better for home fans for very minimal outlay. Couple of temporary bars and a handful of fence panels. What's that cost?

And why do we need them now and not in 9 months time? good question. obviously I'm not itk about why the upgrades are being done, but only my opinion of why they're being done. I would imagine that given all aspects taken into account I.e. crowd safety, access, security blah blah, that we currently aren't ready for sellouts with championship sides.... I personally have noticed since these 9000+ gates it's evident that the mem really has an evolved set up that caters for the 5/6000 faithful and beyond that it's stretched beyond workable means, therefore the club has to depend on improvement's no mater how impromptu to keep mr and Mrs supporter happy.... the club are now supported by greater numbers than any time since I started going (Eastville 1984).... bring it on UTG

If we sell 11k ST's. Maybe we could do a beam back to a local cinema's or other suitable venue, $10 per head.

So... has anyone else spotted the new (6?) sprinklers along the edge of the pitch?, granted they haven't been used for the last couple of games due to the weather, but saw them in action a few weeks ago.

"New West stand/South stand bar" doesn't quiet lend itself to a terrace chant like The "Toteend Bar" does it?
I was born, under a Tote End bar, I was born under a Tote End bar, Knives are made for stabbing, Trains are made to wreck, And if you are a City fan, we'll break you f'kin neck oh, I was born.....
to the tune of "I was born under a wandering star" by Lee Marvin

I doubt any of us will see the day we have 11000 ST holders, or our kids for that matter....
Nothing wrong with thinking big but there has to be an element of realism in there as well!

There's another bar that's sprung up but I'm not going to tell anyone where it is as there was no queue Saturday

If we build our new stadium and get in to the championship we could definitely get 11,000 season ticket holders. That could happen within the next few years let alone our kids lifetimes. And I don't think that's being inrealistic either.
