I thought what about a minutes applause at the next home game he is at on the minute of that match that mirrored his mums age when she sadly passed away. Think that would show what he means to us, but banners great idea. |

Hi never to late, but and it's a big but, we all grieve in differing ways , a banner is a great idea say before the game n put em down about 5 mins into game raise em again at full time and clap dc off, that will show respect without being ott, very hard to explain what i mean, but it will show dc that you are there but if its left up all game it can be like a rope around your neck as it will be the only thing you will focus on during the game and can be overwhelming for the person grieving. |

Poor bloke a day that everyone dreads and he was still at the game,shame the players didn't get a win for him
Great idea the minutes applause but don't know about banners might be a bit too much for him,don't know if I would want to go into work and have banners up
Best thing we can do is get to the mem in numbers Sunday and get right behind them and get a winning run going,every time we lose it spoils my week at work so it's a double whammy for DC so hopefully the boys can cheer him up a little bit starting Sunday

Totally agree, I have no doubt the suggestions above are well-Intended but for me banners or minutes applause risk making a private thing much more public than Daryl and his family may want. |

So sad to hear this news, thoughts go out to DC and his family , I must say what a dedicated man DC is to go out and manage our club under such circumstances. You are a top, top bloke and we should feel privileged to have the man in charge, 110% commitment!

Great intent with the banners but agree with above, he might want to go to work and not be reminded of it.
The applause, on the other hand, is potentially an unobstrusive way of supporting and I like that idea. All one family and that.

Have to say, I have immense respect for the man for attending the match yesterday. Speaking from personal experience I have to say that any public display (banners,applause etc) may be difficult for him. I'm sure he will know the depth of feeling and empathy we all have for him. Perhaps messages of condolence via the club would be more appropriate .

I agree with the keeping it low key view. DC seems to me to be a very private individual, not one to put his family or home life on display, so my hunch is he'd prefer to grieve in private. Clubs tweet just now reinforces this as they have clearly concluded that an explicit public statement would not be right. Marcus also respected that in his interview post match. But I'm sure DC will take great strength from knowing we are all thinking about him.
