My BRAND NEW book, ‘Double Darrell’, is just out and is the antidote to obedient season reviews, with none of the hindsight that most writers rely on. It's a similar format to 'Print That Season!' but has been made even better. It’s a signed and numbered limited edition of only 274 books, so get it quick, before it's gone. Full details & a selection of the pages here If you don't want to read all the detail just go straight here and get yer pieces of eight out Why 274? Because that how many days we stayed in League Two this time - yes, just 274 days. It took Rovers 2,115 days to escape between 2001 and 2007. The BookRe-live Rovers’ great escape from ‘the easiest league in the world’ through a different approach; the warts and all meanderings of a Gashead (me!) who throughout the season penned a regular article available on the Bristol Post web site. What an astonishing season, a veritable roller coaster of a ride, and for the third year in a row the last game of the season became a decider; a nail biting afternoon of squirm. Starting straight after the nail-biting Wembley conclusion of a humbling season in non-league, revisit the ups and downs of another swashbuckling Pirate voyage through 45 sparkling and inventive articles, some of them previously unpublished, with none utilising the hindsight that most writers rely on. There are also details of each match, snippets of what else was happening that week at Rovers, QI stats, three special features, and eight pages of colour photos (mainly contributed by my fellow fans) plus a dozen or so colour photos in the ‘football by footpath’ adventures. To celebrate our new place in Division Three all copies will also come with: - a special promotion day postcard to wow your distant friends and family with,
- a 85 x 55mm Bristol Blue Gas sticker to stick wherever you want (BS3 is always a good place), and,
- a 6”x4” photograph -one of the best photos featured on the cover of the book.
To keep it affordable most copies will be sold via myself, rather than in shops. If I allow shops to sell some as well I'll add the info here and on my website. ALL for £9.99, including UK delivery - ORDER HERESummary- One man’s weekly meanderings throughout Bristol Rovers’ promotion campaign of 2015-16
- 192 pages, including 43 colour photographs
- Numbered limited edition of 274 copies, signed by the author.
- Printed in Wales by a nice old independent printer
- Family Friendly - No swearing, violence, racism etc
- ISBN = 978-0955471292
- R.R.P. = £9.99
- 21.0cm x 14.8cm (A5 size - 8” x 6” approx - same size as ‘Away The Gas‘ & ‘Print That Season!')
- Available here

I like your books, unfortunately due to Christmas nonsense, the purchase of your latest plays second fiddle to Wensleydale with cranberries in it....
hopefully I'll be able to get a copy in the new year....

I'll definitely be buying one of these. Thoroughly enjoyed 'Print That Season' and I'm pleasantly surprised that you have this one coming out as I thought you had initially said you weren't going to do one covering last season. The narrative of the season was just as interesting and exciting as the season before so it definitely needed documenting!

The narrative of the season was just as interesting and exciting as the season before so it definitely needed documenting! Thanks mate. can't remember much at the mo (young kids running amok in my head). I always wanted to do it as 70% of the hard work was already done when I was writing the articles, football by footpath features, etc. it was more the simple time pressures and financial pressures of printing and paying for a small run of books (I'm still old skool and love a sexy glossy book in my mitts). AND although most of the writing was done during the season, the layout, photos, stats, covers etc take up a huge amount of time if you want to do a professional book. Anyway, almost there now... Hope people like it when they get it.

Placed my order - glad that you decided to produce another one Martin. I'm also old skool, love the smell of a new book and cracking the spine for the first read.

Book review corner.
I have to say, the quality of these books is very high.
They are sturdy, have nice glossy pages, an easy on the eye font and lovely photos throughout.
The writing itself is sh**, but you can't have it all.
***** 5star recommended.

Yes, ordered mine on day one so will hopefully have one of the signed copies! Early present from Santa to my self. ta mate They are all signed, but the first 95 sold get a low number (under 100) and 3 postcards [arrived today!], 3 photos and 3 stickers. Yours should be in the very low numbers. I call this the hardcore edition. We are all equal but some Gasheads are better than others. The next lot will get one of everything, and higher numbers. I call this the pleb edition
