The 3 signings are needed NOW,not three weeks time. It amazes me with this club how everything takes so long to progress and how often signings are at the last minute allowing signings no time to get to know the players or tactics. I often wonder during the season if as regards transfers there is any other day apart from Friday. Why can we not get p-layers on a Monday or Tuesday giving them time to settle in.

The worst thing is that you wouldn't mind it if it was a good signing but more often than not it is a disappointing one.

Unfortunately there aren't going to be many if any EXCITING signings at this level. Find it amazing with Rovers how the number of signings varies from day to day. Yesterday it was three signings according to Nick Higgs.Today he says a targetman and potentially another player. Obviously his skill is not in Mathematics!!

I was rather hoping we could try and get a striker in on a season loan, like Torquay did last year. The guy they got from Spur's looked class.

I thought NH said they'd spoken to 3 players not signing 3 players? Although I agree with the OP, why does it take us so long then we sign the likes of Beardsley & Gillespie!
We really needed a good newcomer, or two, before the weekend as if we fail to win either of these games you do wonder how DC will survive as making.
Also what's happened to signing any loan players this season, surely a loan player would sooner play in front of 7,000 than 1,000/2,000 elsewhere?

I'm as restless as the next person, but i really don't want some signings coming in if they don't improve our squad, i believe in the past we have signed players for the sake of it, especially during a period of time where pressure is mounting from the supporters. We need GOOD additions, and although i am as impatient as anyone i'm prepared to wait for the RIGHT players.

It will be some more on la cheap.

UTG Not sure that's the clubs view as it seems the club has been speaking to loads of players but can't get them to join us. It would be interesting to know why, are the offers not good enough, do we lack ambition or training facilities, it's all a mystery.

That in the football circles where players, coaches, managers et al exchange views and opinions, we MAY be being discussed as the team to stay away from. I obviously have no evidence of this and desperately hope it isn't the case, but i just get this nagging feeling that behind closed doors when players say " I've been offered a place at Bristol Rovers" the answer may come back - "Stay clear of that place mate they're in the mire" As i say i desperately hope not, but we seem to be a biggish club (especially in this Division) with a reasonable budget and good crowds, but for some reason as you say it's becoming apparent many players are not interested in joining us. Sad times whatever. UTG

Jon/Toppers sadly I think the fact that any one of the following applies these days
1)That we consistently have a high turnover of players/managers 2)We no longer "pay good money" and new players are clearly on a different structure from existing ones 3)Our Fans Forums are far from harmonious places and on match days we are not the most patient! 4)We have been relegated to the Conference and we have started poorly this season 5)We have local clubs in Div 1, Div 2 and The Conference all above us Personally I think this season is one to re-group and get everything united and moving in the right direction ready for 2015/6.

But this season we got an advantage with our parachute payment ,so it should have been all systems go. Next season, with less revenue it will be harder. The fact is the board have not set the budget high enough and we have had to make do with average conference players. Now they will be forced to make signings in dribs and drabs ,but i fear it will be quantity over quality.

Darrell has explained how he thinks teams have got out of the conference and it's not the way we have been in the past with overpaid players on long contracts who see Rovers as an easy option. We have to budget sensibly (we have over spent for years) because of the fall in revenue we have from the League even with the parachute payment, but a good season could see attendances stay good and help with the revenue shortfalls.

You get out of the conference by winning football matches with good players.
Clever ey ? I could have written the internal review

I think DC just needs to get on and spend his apparently "competitive" budget and leave NH & co to worry about the past, as if he doesn't turn things around soon then he won't have to worry about the future at Rovers.

Clarke talks like every other manager spouting the same boring puns, it's got boring and repetitive . Higgs says on Tuesday we have bids in for two players, Stewart says we have bids on for two players but nothing happens Yet again. we've had all pre season. I'd rather they kept their mouths shut, especially Clarke as he apears to me to be worse than Paul Buckle and I never thought I'd praise that bloke. on a side note when will Higgs mention the Wycombe situation? ??
