Appreciate not a great game today but we can't get promoted indefinitely. Always thought we would need a transitional period once our very large squad hit their glass ceiling. Lots of negativity on the tinterweb but thanks f**k we are back in league 1.
It will take time to shift this squad out and sign one capable of second tier football.
My only real gripe at the moment is the GK situation which is a bit daft.

Yeah,I'm happy with 11th. But it won't be much longer.More appalling gutless performances like that & it'll be 22nd. & lower. Roll on January.

Much of a muchness though, both will be replaced by a new keeper in Jan.

DC needs to be ruthless in January and I think some of these embarrassing displays has made his mind up, think we might need to sell Matty to improve with at least five players we need, a new keeper, new full backs, a centre half, two midfielders one holding the other attacking, and at least one striker.

Yes, I'd be happy to finish in 11th place. Unfortunately on current form, last 8 games, we're 20th !!

Totally agree but Taylors performances over the last ten games have hardly been eyecatching. Just when you need your so called best player to step up to the mark he fails to do so and just becomes distinctly poor like most of the others. Have said it before but when you are relying on midfield players of the calibre of Clarke and Sinclair you are going nowhere. Add to that at least another eight of the present squad not even mentioning the keeper situation and your seven or so additions would appear to me to be right on the money.

We have rightly been giving chances to players who got the club 2 successive promotions and I think many have done well to make it here but need to get back to L1 or conference that is more suited to them. DC now needs to get players in to suit the league we are playing in, that doesnt always mean blowing a big wad on transfers or wages. As long as we do enough to not get relegated theni'll be happy but today was a big warning we may not be too good to go down. The recent form is a shame as maybe it will give Taylor a nudge to get his move in January, if form was better and we were pushing in the play offs he may have stayed. Maybe he already has an eye on a move?

Glad you are relatively happy Dinsdale, were you there today?
This was every bit as bad as our last relegation season. No game plan, no effort, and I cannot remember a shot on target. Someone somewhere has lost the plot, either DC has reached his ceiling or the team has.
The only way for this lot playing like that is a relegation battle.
Puddy and Lockyer made a complete hash for the first goal. Lockyer then proceeded to play like a tart for the rest if the game. Taylor may as well go now, he's not interested. Gaffney should be dropped until he learns the offside rule. Brown just plain awful. Hartley missed an unchallenged header in the second minute. Bodin a non event as was Caulkett etc etc etc.
Steve Hamer was there today, so I hope he gives an honest assessment of the performance to Wael. This sadly is a conference team that has now lost its edge. We have been sussed out. Yet again we played too defensively as you could tell from how we were set up.
No changes today from a team that were crap whilst winning last week. Our side was crying out for width to no avail. This is the first time DC has been under this sort of pressure, and now we will find out how good he really is. I hope he gets through it well because he's given us two good years. But it counts for nowt now. It's the next two years that matter.
It was so bad today that it looked like he had lost the players. And now they are off on a three day water up in Ireland. They should be back on the training pitch.
One suggestion though. It's obvious our team has no spine. Until January, we cannot fix the goalkeeper and centre forward issues, I.e a decent keeper and a tall striker who can get his head on the ball. But at centre back, we have a tall solid defender in the shape of McChrystal. Get him back in the side to reduce our lack of height in defence. Since he has been out, we have not had a commanding defender to play alongside Lockyer, so perhaps it would also sort out Lockyers poor performances. I know he has no pace, but who in that team today had any pace at all? And for god sake play a winger.
Have a good Christmas guys and gals. Hope you all got home ok today.

Did DC make the promise of contracts if we got promoted before Wael took over? He has kept his word and now he can replaced as needed.
Hope things turn around sooooooon

We were sh** today however we all have bad days in the office. The team needs an overhaul however we could be saying that from 24th place 7 points off safety. Instead a group of non league ability players have got us to 11th in league one and for that im very greatful.

Bad days at the office? Where have you been since Millwall away? This is no longer a bad day at the office, this is a potential relegation battle that is looming on the horizon.
The past is history, what matters now is what happens in January.

I don't disagree with you, the teams gone as far as it can and we need new players but thank f**k they hit the ceiling in the top half rather then 24th. They have done a fantastic job with limited ability to drag us back up.

Well is worth 400 million. surely we could sign a few players without having to sell our best asset. We should be trying to keep matty at the club by signing players who have the quality and desire to be playing in higher league.

I'm not ready to lower my expectations. Poor recent form and not turning up today are big worries, and I think not easy to fix in January. A threat to our Tier 3 status if we aren't careful. Finishing 11th might be just about ok but it's a long ride yet and I still expect and hope for more. Call me greedy. . .

Hang on...Why do we need to sell? Isn't our owner wealthy? Also how does selling 1 decent player allow recruitment of 5 decent players?
