I agree with the above. Remembering the Crawley cup replay though the same could have happened. Gaffney on 2 and us with a penalty. Taylor took it and they ended with two each. It wasn't a critism, just an observation. He offered the Pen to Gaffers who didn't want it,so Matty took it.

Neither. Saying that he has "never looked good enough" is quite clearly b0llocks. Well he hasn't to most of us and only seems to be playing now because our loan players aren't good enough. Perhaps after today he'll gain confidence and kick on to the next level, before DC brings in a replacement next month. DC has given OC almost 100 appearances since he became boss. The lad is so lucky. 130 professional appearances at the age of 24. Jammy git.

...Only thing I found a bit off was MT gifting the penalty to BB. Is that the sign of a striker short of confidence or one whose confidence is so high he doesn't need a penalty goal? I wonder what DC's reaction would have been had Bodin missed? Maybe we are blooding a new striker/penalty taker for January and onwards..... DC said on radio it was simply MT being generous and letting BB get the first hat-trick of his career. Ellis would have been second in line anyway, so no need to blood new pen takers. BB scored his pen vs Yeovil in the Having a Larf Cup we've scored 20+ pens in a row. I don't think pens is high on the list of things to worry about

We were twice the attacking force once ellis came on Unacceptable comment on this forum. Ellis is the root of all evil and can't do anything right.

Great result for the lads but it has been personally tempered by the death of my father tonight. He would have loved this result.

Interesting stuff from today from my perspective. That was basically our league 2 promotion team today and they did a pretty good job. Still seem to have that team spirit. We didn't go a goal down and maintained the lead throughout once we got the first goal. The mem really isn't fit for capacity crowds. On the balanced side, Coventry were very very poor and should have scored more. We still need a new keeper. Yes it was our team from last season, 10 started and finished who were in our promotion team and 8 starters and finishers were with us in the Conference. They showed that with a system they know how to play, with an up beat approach and a bit of width they can compete successfully. I know Coventry were poor but you still have to win and to do so 4-1 was just what the doctor ordered. It was a great way to respond after last week and the players and DC deserve credit for that. Onwards and upwards. UTG!

Important to remember that football is just a game and it's life and family which are important. Hope it goes as well as it can over the next few weeks.

Onwards and upwards. UTG! Yeah 4-4-2 works best with this squad of players and I think the main reason for that is Chris lines. He is our playmaker he runs and creates and passes the ball wide and with a defensive holding midfielder behind him and wingers / inside forwards to pass to we won two promotions and can beat most teams in this division too. It's a winning formula , if it's not broken don't try and fix it. We'll lose games playing that way of course we will and there'll be times where we need to mix it up but playing 3-5-2 or the diamond most weeks and switching to 4-4-2 now snd again was taking us backwards and stunting our growth. Over the window we need a top experienced keeper an experienced holding midfielder and competition for Bodin and Montano because we need to move on through the rest of the season with wide men and other than Moore and perhaps Sinclair we've got no back up in those positions. DC has experimented massively these last few weeks and fair play to him for that but I think he went back to basics today and played our best players in their best positions in our best formation and it showed. We'll come up against better sides than Coventry in the next few months obviously but I think our best chsnce of a top ten finish will be if Chris lines up in plays in a 4-4-2 with wide men and we've got Colket and Bosteng to play if he needs resting So we've got back up in those positions. I feel so much more positive about things after today, I looked st the line up at 2:30 and just knew it was right and we'd play well. As someone said a couple of weeks ago the diamond is Bobbins 😂

A really good gritty performance, nice to see Manse back on the pitch after his injury problems, like to see him start against the Wombles alongside Linsey, after all those boys were our central-pairing last season, and I know Bodin scored a great penalty yesterday, but who can forget Manse's winning penalty against the Codmen at Wemberlee, absolute legend.

But why mess about changing a winning team, especially as Manse is unlikely to be fully fit, also what would it do with Ollie Clarke's confidence to be dropped? If I was DC I'd send out and say same again lads, although knowing Tinkerman he'll go back to the damn diamond on Saturday.

It's really not, but anything to back up your little agenda, right? no agenda,i just think its important to only sign players to improve the team and its was noticeable that we looked stronger today mostly without the new signings. i should add im not keen on more than 1 or 2 loans in a squad, what about you? I expect DC made the signings thinking that they would weaken the team. I can also remember the outrage when each signing was revealed because everyone knew they were all useless flops.

What a great Christmas. The icing on the cake being to wake up to a big gas win and the 82ers losing yet again. Had a decent read through the gaschat matchday thread and now eating breakfast and poring over the seething spudfest that is otib. Marvellous stuff. We must be about as close to that lot of sh** as we have been for a while now. In league position only. Every other aspect of the sport/business sees us very far behind.

I'd rather be behind in a glorious vintage motor that's being painstakingly restored than in front in a 1982 cut-and-shut job being driven by a clueless boy racer with more money than sense. Sooner or later the 1982 model is going to crash and burn. Sorry to hear about your dad, Steve.
