Centre Back with Oxford Utd. Age 24 6ft 2ins ever present for Oxford. Scored their first goal in last match at home to Wycombe last season that saw them promoted.
Apparently been watching him for a while. He will cost

I think you are right in that he won't be cheap. He's obviously an important part of their side, and considering they made £4 million on transfers in the Summer and didn't spend much, I can't imagine they are in a position where they need to sell.

Oxford fans blowing hot and cold about him. As for selling him, I guess that depends on when his contract is up.

My word, you would expect the higher we go in the league the better the quality of player touted would be. Sadly not. I'd have preferred Parkes back than this one.

Posters moan when DC signs Div 2 players now he's apparently looking at a Div 1 player fans say we need better quality! Dunkley is part of a back 4 which has only let in 28 goals so far this season so he can't be as bad as posters are suggesting? Seems he signed for Oxford in Jan 2014 so does that mean his contract is up this Jan or next summer, assuming he's not signed as extension last Jan/this summer?

His own fans seem to be split on his ability for this league?

Well we have posters on here questioning Taylor's ability, although assuming DC plans on playing him alongside Locks then that's going to be a very inexperienced CB pairing at this level, which does make you wonder if there's any truth in this rumour.

Yeah I was one that didn't really welcome Hartley, although his goals have been a good bonus he looks suspect at his primary task of marking/defending. If we are wanting to get in a CB id still go for Aaron Pierre, probably the best CB in L2. Locks will come good soon i'm sure.

All eleven of our starting line-up on Boxing Day were playing in league 2 last season. 7 of them were with us in the conference the year before. Likewise, our three used subs were with us last year and two of them were with us in the conference season. No loanee from the premiership to be seen. We're top half of the league. I have no qualms with DC looking down the divisions again if that's what he chooses to do.

Dunkley outstanding against us for Kidderminster in that game when Blissett also stood out in our Conference season & soon after signed for Oxford. I do rate him but is he that much better than Hartley that we would pay a sizeable sum for......not sure!!

Agreed, Aaron Pierre would be a fantastic signing but have no idea if he would be available or how much he would cost or indeed whether he would want to come to the Gas.

I remember the last cultured defender we bought Marcus Andeasson, so good we signed him twice! Remember him released because he was homesick, then we bought him back months later! You could not make it up!

Out of contract in the Summer so might be available at a reduced price. Although they turned down a fee for him last Summer so maybe they would rather his contract run down than have the money for him. He's only young as well. What age is it where clubs are no longer entitled to compensation for out of contract players? (I know its either 24 or 25)

You could not make it up! A bit like Rogvi Baldvinsson that we signed a few years ago, one of Mcghee's signings with all the amazing contacts he had. Went home after two weeks

I'd imagine bigger clubs than Rovers will be in for him though.
