Both spot on. Of course you have to go for it. Examples given are good reasons why you can't depend on it happening in a years time. After all, what great memories another promotion would give. UTG! Exactly. Rovers have had 6 ? promotions since 1883 and now people are saying "oh not this year we are not ready",lifes not like that, get real, when do kids come along at the 'right time'?. So what if they dont stay up for long ? they never have done in the past,I would love to see Rovers get promoted this season and next, into the record books and straight back down but who cares ? otherwise why bother ? This division is rubbish, thats what is frustrating me,I would have been happy with top 10 at the start of the season but with a couple of decent signings I think the play offs are easily achievable, just go for it. Spot on and let's face it when have we ever been ready? Having seen all accept the 1950s promotion have to say the answer has usually (always?) been never! But that's part of being a Rovers fan! And brilliant it has been. UTG!

Promotion is never to early. The mem would be a horrible place for the championships big time charlies to come. Plus the extra tv income would make a huge difference. We only have to be better than 3 teams over 46 games. We have nothing to fear and everything to gain. Even if we did come back down, the experience would be invaluable and set us in a strong position to bounce back up. The turd and donny have been doing it for years. No reason why we could'nt emulate them or even Burton. The owners have the perfect opportunity to re-evaluate season goals based on our current position and back DC to ensure we get into that top 6. Steve Hamer told me that we would get £6 million Share of TV money if we get promoted against the less than £1 million for being in league 1 City's wage bill was £16m when they were relegated. Clubs in the Championship (with much higher incomes than us) are losing an average of £10m a year, I read. If we went up now the squad would need a massive overhaul, which isn't DCs style. It's one thing playing Mansell/LL etc in League One, but in the championship it's out of the question. Even the likes of Lockyer, Leads and Bodin have struggled at times this season after the step up. How many other could cut it in the Championship. Another summer in league one would at least give us a better to base if we were to go up next year. It's all well and good to say that survival would be a bonus, but you know if we were in the bottom 3 for long, even in the Championship, the knives would be out for DC from many.

Think we need to forget about thinking how well or not we'd do in the Championship with this squad. If we did get promoted then we would have had a great 2017 and players would have improved again. And were we to go up then a number of this team would be good enough imo. At the moment it all dreaming but as Rovers fans that's ok, it's what we do! We take every match as it comes, go Fleetwood with a winning mentality which this set of players do have. Fleetwood are a good, solid team and although they usually score they do not get many. The right approach on Saturday and I would be confident of success. At the Mem they looked good when they took the lead and we played well to get a result but it will not be easy. Feel more confident with Macca's organisation at the back. Were we to go up then we would need to think about staying there and only then, in the meantime I'm going to enjoy the ride!! UTG!
ps can you imagine what some on here would say? Just imagine in March DC says if we go up all players will be offered contracts if we go up, we then go up and contracts are renewed!! Some on here would explode. That would be brilliant to see the reaction. And if we did go up I would agree with renewing contracts, it's a great incentive!
