At the age of 80 I could NOT remember being present at a game when we had beaten Northampton,so Saturdays emphatic win by the time only a quarter of the game had gone was particularly pleasing. What was even more pleasing was the realisation that most of the spine of the team was home grown - Chris,Ellis,Olly and Tom,that's getting close to 40% of the team (someone will produce a precise figure). How long since we achieved a figure that high.
FACT
DC is the BEST manager we have had IN MY LIFETIME.Back to back promotions, the new spirit in the club,us fans holding our heads up high again and really believing,I could go on,all in an era when expectations and results are wanted yestreday.
Mind the GAP, no stand clear this train's NOT stopping.

Another 5 goal performance - Northampton 4 Bristol Rovers 5 in the 1960's is one of my all time favorite away trips.

Great post. I've been going since the late 80s and DC is the best manager Weve had In my opinion.
Is also good to see how much Harrison and Ollie Clarke have improved under darrell, going back few years ago I'd never of thought I'd see harrison or Ollie Clarke playing for rovers in 2017 in league one is great stuff.

I've been a big critic of Ollie Clarke, but would be delighted to eat a big slice of humble pie if he can keep putting in form similar to that of late

I recall seeing him tried out as centre forward in a reserve match just before (think from memory he scored a lot of goals in that game) and hence he got the first team role. Probably the shortest player on the pitch as well.

Why not eat a big slice of humble pie now? I've had a nibble, but I would like to see him doing it over a longer period, and more importantly be that central midfielder that goes to get on the ball and make things happen when the game isn't exactly going our way. If he does that then I will tick the position off of 'need a replacement to be in first choice 11'.
