A year on and I do feel that the new owners are having a positive impact on our loved football club. Yes, we all want Messi and we'd love more information on the stadium. But Wael always said evolution not revolution. I believe the stadium will come.
They might be minor improvements but things I've noticed so far:
- willingness of prem clubs to loan us players. - the new score board - a promotion - better half time entertainment. - gate enhancement
Moreover the latest signing really illustrates a brilliant improvement.
Last January, we were involved in an 'at times' bitter tug of war over Rory Gaffney. While we finally got our man, there was a sense that both teams had played a little rotten. This time around, there were no rumours of deal until the 11tg hour and the oposistion club has come away praising our involvement.
I see Improvement.

Who is Parrington?See you've corrected spelling now.Lovely interview.Comes across as a very level headed guy.Similar signing to James Clarke inasmuch as being secured from a Conference club. Will be very keen to prove himself but reckon he'll be on the bench to-morrow.Unchanged likely after last time out and important to turn our away form round.Welcome to the club young man.Don't think you'll be the last addition.

The only thing rotten about it was that Shaun Derry acted the tw*t at the time. Rovers did nothing underhand, but Derry wanted to backtrack on telling Rory that he was no longer needed, after he had done well in his loan spell with us. I think we all see a gradual improvement on and off the field.

In terms of this transfer compared to last years argument over Rory although I agree, the circumstances are different. Last year Camb U wanted him back and in the team after he had scored a few for us and we were then a direct opposition to them in the same league. Also we were dealing with Shaun Derry who probably didn't like us. Seeing as he came off second best I suspect he likes us even less now! Martin Allen on the other hand does like us and is always speaking well of us and the relationship with Eastleigh appears to be a good one. It might be that everyone learnt from last years transfer dealings! Eastleigh certainly went out of their way to praise us which was good to see. But you are absolutely correct, the evolution is steadily upwards. COYB! UTG!

Given DC/NH brought in Bliss (& J Clarke?) w/o any problems it's a bit harsh to say DC/Wael are better just because the Cambridge boss acted like a tw@t over Gaffers!

It's unusual for a club to state it though. Perhaps we approached them, explained what we wanted in an open and honest manner and negotiated a reasonable price.
As opposed to tapping up the player and doing deals behind the scenes. Now, perhaps they might give us first dibs on a youth player or we can loan players to them for experience....you know, building a reputation and working relationship with other clubs.
Nice to see we are hungry, but not at all costs. As it should be.

It's very interesting on a number of fronts.
The improvement in relations could be resulting in us being able to do business easier. I can't imagine our previous board was particularly easy to deal with and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up cutting off their noses to spite their faces.
Our new board / owner seem to have connections all over the place and it seems to be paying dividends with the players we are bringing in.
Darrell was at the Eastleigh vs Boreham Wood game a couple of weeks back, on the TV with Chris Hargreaves and BT sport. I can't imagine it was just about watching Jamie Lucas and making a quick buck at the same time and must have some link to this signing. You could sense the respect with Martin Allen as well.
We seem to be in a similar position in terms of ambition, resource and having a plan to scale the club on and off the pitch and it might prove fruitful to form a relationship with Eastleigh especially given their Chairmans keen regard for our club.

I agree that Cambridge and Derry were particularly shady about things but essentially he was their player and therefore they could. I would assume nowadays we wouldn't necessarily squabble over petty amounts. Pay and move on.
