I wrote a mammoth new thread earlier then deleted without submitting cos I couldnt be arsed getting into a debate (if anyone read it). The crux of it was I do worry we are now consolidating for next season when we are only a few points off the playoffs and have a golden opportunity that may not (and probably wont when this run evens itself out) come around for years. Because, knowing Rovers (new regime or not), I feel 'getting by with what we have', having a clear out in the summer and building for next season may very well see us struggle next year. Why? Gut feeling. No club keeps their momentum up forever I know. We're still flying, think we'd be foolish to start planning our summer hols already with such an opportunity to push further, cos we all know how quickly fortunes at this club can change. Sounds like he's just been brought in as a stop gap until Mildenhall recovers, if so, why did he bring in Roos as he may have fell just stuck with Milders (before he was injured anyway), so who's being earmarked to start on Saturday Puddy or Lumley??

The save at bang on 23 seconds does it for me! Incredible how he stays on both feet!

neil etheridge at walsall is quality we had him on loan. splash some cash surely he rather be at us then walsall Doubt it, they're about the same size as us really. Walsall average attendance a couple of thousand less than us - but Saturday might tell us which is the biggest/best club

6 foot 3 on the other forum. An extra inch can make all the difference, I'm told (frequently).

I'm happy to see how the lad gets on rather than slating him before he's even played a game for us. Who knows he could turn out to be unbelievable.

Welcome joe you will need it. I don't think people are complaining about Joe himself, more the fact its yet another young goalkeeper.

So seems we are in the throws of leaving it too late to get what we want and not enough money in the budget to buy what we need... It's a case of crossing toes/fingers and whatever else we can from now on and possibly settle for mid to low table spot in my opinion... Budget of £400,000
£100,000 on a non league defender and another loan signing... I'm guessing £300,000 doesn't get you much and Darryl needs money for the summer out of that too???
I have mixed emotions of feeling we have to strike while the iron is hot And another feeling of finiancially we're punching above our weight of where we are in the league anyway...
£400,000 budget is exactly what we made off the Chelsea game so I guess we have to feel lucky we had that revenue this year...but I still feel we should have more put in the pot..the gate reciepts are the highest it's been since a long time but I also realise keeping Matty taylor would have been expensive too and I can't see him going until the end of the season...
We do need a few more signings to strengthen the squad and I'm very surprised no one has gone yet except gosling on loan as players are being left out of the squad at the moment???
Anyway keep the faith and UTG

If anyone wants to avoid doing their head in, staying away from this thread for the next half an hour might be the way forward! You are right, if you are of a nervous disposition stay away from this thread! 2 hours old and we're already on page 6! But tbf most are welcoming to the player but asking questions of DC! UTG!

Could be back up for the first choice keeper we're yet to sign. I'm willing to wait until the end of the window before calling it a farce like some in here are. Unless anyone knows the exact ins and outs of all DCs negotiations this window I don't see the point of getting on his back or slagging off our new signings just yet. The January window is notoriously a hard time to bring in quality but there's still about half of it left. UTG

Pathetic response by the majority IMO. Totally pathetic. Two and a half years ago this place was full of people saying that they'd never heard of Matty Taylor he's fourth choice at FGR how the hell are we going to even stay up in the conference. Slagging off signings before they've even played for the club is not what proper supporters do in my opinion. This Forum has always had a few prats here and there but it's certainly gone down hill over time. Maybe it's just a sign of the times and all fans insist on big names and big money I don't know but I'm proud of DC and what he's achieved and I've got faith in him to take us forward and will support any new signing made.
