Can't recall DC ever playing less than two up front, but in view of recent away form is it worth trying 4-5-1 with Sinclair, O Clarke, and Lines central midfield.

We did that first half v Chelsea not that that game is a good example of whether it would work or not v league 2 opposition. I think it could work if we used Gafney or Harrison at centre forward and Bodin and Taylor as the wide men both cutting inside to shoot with our fullbacks overlapping on the outside of them and then Clarke lines and Sinclair keeping things secure in the middle. I think it would be better than 3-5-2 or the diamond.

The only thing I don't like about it is that i don't think Taylor could play up front on his own. So he would either have to play on the wing (where I don't think he is effective) or he would have to sit on the bench. UTG!

I think he could do it if he played in the Bodin kind of role with Billy on one side and Taylor on the other. In fact I quite like the sound of it. We need to start picking up some points away so it's worth trying it for a game or two .

Tomorrow I'd go for:
_____________Lumley Leads_Partington___McChrystal_Brown _____________Clarke _______Lines________Sinclair ____Bodin____Gaffney___Montano
Taylor and Lockyer off form and could do with a rest IMO.
Tell OC or Sinclair to stick to Oztumer all game.
Gaffney's our best ST at holding up the ball, working the channels as a lone man, bringing others into play etc IMO.

He couldn't, Gaffney will run & chase everything all game, so that formation would suit him. Taylor is a different type of player, doesn't run as much, but he makes up for that with his goals. Would he still have scored the same amount of goals if he did the donkey work Gaffers does? I don't think so.

So we drop 4 goal Harrison after 1 away game for a player not deemed worthy of the bench at Fleetwood, is that the fastest hero to zero in Rovers history?
Likewise we're dropping Locks for a player non of us have ever even see play yet?

Likewise we're dropping Locks for a player non of us have ever even see play yet? 1) Not deemed worthy for bench or had a knock and not fit enough for bench? 2) Different systems require different types of players. Does Harrison suit being a lone striker? Not for me. 3) Lockyer has been fairly poor for most of the season IMO and we're shipping goals for fun away from home. Try something new? Heaven forbid!

I think it would be better than 3-5-2 or the diamond. We did that at MK Dons and we were awful,Taylor wasted out wide, when DC changed it and put Taylor back in the middle he scored three. Also our fullbacks were run ragged and Brown really struggled. Wouldn't be surprised to see 3-5-2 with our new signing like when he came on at Fleetwood.
