Has anyone actually seen any plans for the training ground?
At the moment it sounds like we're going to have a few re-seeded pitches and a clubhouse akin to what you'd see in the county league?
Where's the plans for the state of the art facilities?

He must still be pretty confident, if they are not looking at a plan B yet. If they both want it, think we will get it over the line. It would have been commercial suicide to say they were looking at a plan B. Whether or not they are. Not sure about that. Having a plan b could put a bit more pressure on Uwe. At present they hold all of the cards and have us over a barrel. Suspect this will play out til near August deadline and will put us in a position where have to agree more favourable terms for Uwe rather than walk away and start over at that point.

Problem is if planning runs out in August we need a deal very soon to get a project like that up and running. Desk top studies and ground condition surveys need to be done and assesses. Also I don't think just excavations will be enough to class the project as started, I think on large commercial projects new materials have to be introduced to class it as commenced.

I'm afraid SH is wrong.
Planning permission expires in January 2018

Where's the plans for the state of the art facilities? So far its just the ammended PP for what was previously planned. I guess we want to just get on their first. Once done we can look at the bigger development plans

Well that's an odd one then. Surely he should know that?! So either the deadline he refers to isn't in respect of the planning permission or our chairman doesn't know when the planning permission expires.

I guess the deadlinr to agree is August as things will need to be done to satisfy the PP as started

It's pretty clear that while Higgs got our leg in the door with the UWE - that our leg had gout and a Fungal infection growing on it.
It must had been a awlful, mouldy slice of the pie that Higgs was willing to let us take in order for us to get the UWE built. In hindsight Im glad sainsburys pulled out under higgs as you can only imagine the crappy deal we could have had under higgs eg: Coventry ...
Wael and co are now trying to get the best deal for our club and this takes time. They have proberly have had to start from scratch. They've not even been here a year yet and have already got us a new training ground being built,I'm sure things will be ok with UWE by August.

I'm really pleased he started getting defensive, having to deal daily with people who don't understand or care about the complexities of a project of this size must get very wearing.
Very few people seem to be acknowledging that what WAQ and Co are aiming to deliver is nothing like the shell of a stadium with no revenue agreed by previous parties, it's like starting all over again in so many aspects of the project.
Hey ho the criticisms from sections of the fanbase with no idea about large stadium projects, and who demand to know every minor detail of the progress will continue that's for sure.
The negativity will roll on and some will believe the hideous rumour that after settling a £3m club debt and building a state of the art training facility that WAQ will then sell up!
Common sense, it's not common.

The only good news is we got about 7 months until this saga ends. Finally: all the spin: talk: arguments : disagreements will be over and action will speak louder than words. I am glad an end is coming very soon!. You don't see the signing off of a 29 acre training academy on 3rd Feb for the whole club and local community as good news?

'UWE still want it.' 'We're content' Geoff: 'So what's the problem?' 'Waffle, waffle, hot air, waffle...' In my chat with SH last week he did say that it was "like dealing with a committee in discussions with UWE."
"They are a public body and need to ensure everything is 100% in accordance with their remit. No-one at UWE wants to make a mistake which could affect their job/pension"
"The gap is not that great" - no idea what that meant, £1m difference or maybe £5m difference?
Clearly SH does not want to give a running commentary - now where have I heard that recently?
I am still confident (80%) that this will be completed but it may go to the wire.

Well quite but there is an alternative whereby everyone involved knows that will be UWEs fall back position (the Dean said it himself three years ago - something along the lines of "Would I rather see a football stadium there rather than a new library? No I wouldn't") and Hamer is not letting them pull that thread by saying "Well actually we could walk away too because we have a back-up plan". Because he knows that that is the fast lane to making a deal fall down. There is some negotiating value in appearing to be painted into a corner.

Ther can be a difference between saying no plan b on the radio and what they are telling UWE

Silence doesn't always mean there is trouble, it simply means they don't want an endless debate with people who don't understand the complexities.

People do seem to jump to the conclusion that the deal issues are about money ,be it £1m or £5m . It may well be other things like what facilities the students get to use ,parking availability ,sponsorship or some way the uwe gets a long term benefit from the stadium.

So basically he is skirting around the very crux of the issue, uwe (quite rightly) want market value for their land and we don't want to pay it. I imagine the finance secured is dependant on a much lower price being paid. Someone is going on have to blink before august then, we need that land more than they need us to buy it.

I'm relatively relaxed with what he had to say , of course he was going to say we could walk away if the deals not right but that's what you say ain't it ? Topper & co will obviously see this as its all gone tits up but that's their prerogative.
