Maybe? depends on what sort of deal, say 18 months. Would be nice to see him back but we shouldn't break the bank to get him.To be honest he is on Championship wages and Cardiff will be looking for a fee in the high 6 figures area I would of thought.

Definitely , his ability to pick out a killer pass would give Taylor a field day. I bet he can still score a free kick too. That sort of thing doesn't go with age. Play him behind Ellis and Taylor he'd be brilliant or in a 4-4-2 getting on the end of the crosses it's defo a yes from me.

Love to see Ricky return. We won't pay for him so more likely to be in the summer than now. Most likely it won't happen.

From what DC says, there is no way we will pay Sir Rickie what he would want. I reckon he probably is on 7-10k a week there, so that would really knock us out of the chase.
Would love to see him back mind. Him and Taylor up top would be fantastic!

I would say he is on more like 15-20k per week at CCFC
Personally I would love him back and without doubt he would be an asset to us in L1. Like someone has said, he's still got an eye for goal, can pick a pass and is great with a dead ball. Knows Linesy's game as well.
4 goals in the championship from 15 games but when you consider that most of those are from the bench and he is stlll the leading scorer it says it all about the rest of the team.

I'm sure he'd be quite an asset wherever he ends up....

Heart says yes, head says no.
His best days are behind him now and I'd rather the memories were left untouched.
Wouldn't represent value for money.

just as a side thought on this issue....
I was speaking to some saints fans a few months ago and I can safely say that if we hold Rickie in high regard then times it by 10 and stick 100 on the end, they absolutely love him beyond comprehension there....
they also love us for selling him for £1m....

Yes. They considered him a worthy successor to LeTissier, which tells you all you need to know.

Perhaps DC's got wind of this and wants to move on the unwanted 6 just to pay Rickie's wages as he's probably on 6 of our players wages! Although the way his career is nose diving he'll probably be as good as GF or JW second time around.

Ok, realise that. But bit unfair on us. We also love him, a lot, but we simply couldn't hold onto him long enough or build a quality enough team around him to have ANY chance of keeping him. And what grates is that Soton managed to find almost £1m after going bust. IMO Soton are one of the worst of the worst for the way they bought their way back up the lges after shafting their creditors. They bought the cream of the Lge 1 crop (Lee Barnard, Rickie, Jason Puncheon, etc). That could have been your business or mine being shafted. It was also a bit bizarre that no-one else seemed to be interested in him for decent money despite a proven track record of ripping Lge 1 apart, but that's not Soton's fault.

I don't like to get to hung up on politics on here these days....
