As a kid this obviously meant more when ee played City with decent attendances (was right behind Ian Willmotts cracker from 25 yards at Ashton), but if the reserves and youth manage to get to the final v City what a good send off it could be for some of the heroes over the last two seasons.
I would expect that not that many will actually leave in Jan and fewer will be paid up (the lack of loans may mean we have to have experience as back up in case a few injuries.)
I would expect up to 10 players may not get new contracts, if you include the young pros, so a GFA cup final at the Mem could see the promotion heroes win a trophy and hopefully a good turnout to give them a good reception.
Obviously, there are many ifs and buts but it would be more romantic than a player just sort of dissapearing with just 3 or 4 more games sat on the bench for the rest of the season.

Anyone else going Tuesday night, kick-off 19.45?
A new ground for me and we might have a chance as Cinderford have lost their last eight games.

The above was before the news of the release of 6 players, but if Easter, Macca, Puddy or Lawrence don't get a move by the deadline, I would have thought they will feature in the GFA cup to help the youngsters.
Would be nice for Macca to lift the trophy!
PS can they move to the National League (or other countries) after Tuesday?

So the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
I was in the area and called at ground and it was a real pea soup fog.
Not sure I want to risk going for the rearranged date as they have had masses of games postponed in the last two months.
