To all those who think it's right we should just be happy with settling into life in league one and not worrying about making a challenge now for the championship. For weeks I've kept saying you can't pick and choose when you get promotion. When it's possible you have to go for it with everything you have.
The sh** got Taylor because they are in the championship and therefore can pay him more. If we are ever going to be in a position to keep our best players then we have to get there as well. Not in two years or five years or any particular number of years. We f.ckingwell have to get there asap. Never mind consolidation, we have been shafted by them because they knew they could, and we say we're happy to doss around where we are.
Well not me. If it's there we have to go for it, and even though it's now much harder, we have to replace him and still go for it. I will never settle for being second best to those bast.rds.

The reason they can pay him more isn't because they're in the championship. Its because they've got a wnaker of an owner who throws 8 figure sums every year at them to play average second tier football

Wael/DC/Chairperson needs to make a statement soon or they will get a very bad backlash from the fans What the hell are you on about? You don't represent the fan base, Taylor has been wanting to leave for quite some time, good riddance to the snake, i will pay for the taxi fare for others to join him if they are going to get on the back of an owner who has done more to improve this club than any other owner, ever.

Can't agree with much of this sorry. We ARE settling into lg1, that has to be a fact since we are ill prepared for this league let alone anything higher. "When it's possible"-Correct. They didn't get him because of where they are being the relationship with £££. SL has the money. He wouldn't have gone to Burton would he? Nobody wants to be second best to them, however our off the field foundations put us years off and falling further by the year until we get a stadium of our own and grow our fanbase and footprint.

It does make you wonder. Didn't they just sign a Bosnian striker for a couple of million, so why do they need Taylor? Is it just a business move by Landsdown to take the best striker away from your closet business rivals?

It's clear that they triggered the release clause that's the only reason why he has moved south of the river - no other reason. We move on.He did well for us, but left us being abit of a c8nt! Simple, but We move on.. We as a club have a plan,a vision, a dream and a disination - Sadly for Matty he has left the journey and decided to go on a ghost train through hell... Cheers fella!

Shame on all settlers out there.
Happy after two promotions etc..... Part of a great recent history. Counts for nowt into the future. If it did perhaps MT would still be here.Any decent players joining us will want to know what ambition we have, not replay past glories.
They got him because of Lansdowns money......... Even Burton could pay him a lot more than us. Why? Because they get £6m per year tv money.
Chuck money at it? Not said by me, I'm talking about people on here settling for what we have. If our owners gave the same level of commitment then DC will be the next one to leave. So go for it. If we make it I presume some on here won't bother going because we will only come straight back down. Will we?
We don't have the infrastructure......... Nor do Burton, Rotherham, AFC Bournemouth. But they didn't wait around till they got it. Even Rotherham can only get 12000 in. Meanwhile they have benefitted from a far higher turnover than us. If we don't get UWE, will you settle for our present level hereonin? Think about it. One of the major moans by fans at our level is that teams further up the food chain can steal players from teams like us. So my query is, if we are going to remain at our current level, why develop a training ground? You can train in an empty field for far less cost. Infrastructure is an evolving issue, but is greatly enhanced by additional tv revenues.
The only way to stop a lot of this poaching of better players is to maintain your ambition and go for it. I just can't believe anyone can possibly believe that we can get promoted too soon. And please stop basking in the glory of recent success. It was all fantastic, but as it says on the tin, it's in the past. Even I play the videos back and love them. But they have no bearing on the future unless we keep the ambition burning.
