DC is an honest, tough guy and the player he stood with and developed sh*t on him today, he must be upset at how MT has treated him...I don't want to pretend to be in the know but we share a good mutual friend and understand DC never expected this until Sunday...we need to support this man who choose nor to walk away away for more money when Leeds came calling his only fault is that expected perhaps foolishly MT would do the same. It not nice to be sh*t on.

I agree.
DC for all his good, great,or bad points is our greatest ever manager and has class and a respect for our football club - unlike Mr Taylor.
Looking back we were clearly his 2nd choice during the summer given how long he dragged it on, and we should have told him to get stuffed then.
I don't begrudge him a better paid job,or for challenging himself for the step up, but there is a way you do it.
He has sh** on his legacy at BRFC - the club that gave him his break, and spat in the face of thoses coaches and players that created him.
I'm glad that he is no longer a part of our club, not for his lack of football talent but rather given what has been revealed today with what he lacks in morals and respect.

DC thought he'd gone for nothing in the summer. Instead he got another half a season out of him and a decent return of goals and assists plus around 300k. I don't think MT did badly by us at all there and DC is a pragmatist who will feel the same. It is just where he has gone that has got some people's goat...but to be fair their money is as good as anybody else's to my mind. Hopefully DC will set about unburning the bridges with Easter as I have no doubt that either he or Billy Bob can play the Taylor role (stretching the back line and switching the tempo and focus of the attack). I like the idea of BBB there but it leaves the main contenders for the wide right role as the low on confidence Moore or the short on first team minutes Broom, in fact I'd rather see Leads given a chance at the more advanced role and use it as an opportunity to introduce Partington to first team action in his preferred right back slot. Anyway I guess now we'll get a better look at the back up boys LJ & JL to be able to judge if either can step up.

I think the spin on this (and it's hard to argue with it) is that he could have gone in the summer. He chose to extend then and we got an extra 5 months out of him that we may well not have had. I can handle him having gone. It's just where he's gone. He's either very naive or it's a massive two fingers up to the Gas from him. A very strange career move. Sure he's at an age where he feels he can't turn down the big bucks for his future security, but he could have got that at a number of other clubs who have more potential than the 82ers. I wish him no injury, but more than ever I wish them relegation. Judas.

Nothing to serious just an ACL and relegation with the men's Rugger department. He could have given DC at least a months notice to give him at least a chance to get someone in JUDAS😡😡

You can bet your bottom dollar if he has a bad couple of games at City then Lee Johnson will have him out the team quicker than anything and their fickle fans will turn on him quicker than anything too. I believe in karma.

I think we have to change the philosophy of the club - soon, or risk losing the like of DC, we have to become a club capable of holding on to its star players, and being the club that takes advantage of one's neighbours frailties.
We are in need of positive news, the 'welcome to Bristol' gloat from Trashton last night hurt, even the national newspapers picked up on that one.

Having now slept on it still makes No sense to me why go to club just above drop zone? All he had to do was score 5/6 more goals until end of season then he could have gone to virtually any club bizarre!!!.just gone for the money what a twat dealt hope it blows up in he's face knob head! As for dc god knows what he thinks can't wait to hear what he's got to say that's going to be interesting

Ok a player who wants to be elsewhere needs to be unloaded as quickly as possible.
But same old same old Rovers, time and again near transfer deadlines promises disappear.
At a time when gates are rising thus increasing the income available, why was an adequate replacement not in place already - even if he had not left now, he would have gone in the summer.
Again same old, same old rely on youngsters and loanees - did we never learn from the Holloway team c.2000 when we blew away our best chance of getting to the Championship ?
It would seem not.
With regard Taylor, I find it impossible to wish him well.......no excuses about him, the many rumours proved correct for once and he went to the dark side.

If they go down he has 4 months or so to put himself in the shop window for other Championship clubs to come knocking. It wouldn't surprise me if he has a relegation 'get out' clause which he will trigger if they do come down (not that I think they will).

Lets not kid ourselves, players don't love football clubs like the fans do, if they say they do its probably BS. It is just a workplace to them.
Doesn't seem like MT gave it a 2nd thought, doesn't have to even move house although he will probably be worried as his address was put up on facebook.

DC has always had a feeling for Easter but think he found it difficult to get him in the team with MT. Despite last week, and as you say DC is a pragmatist as was shown with Mildy last year, this gives Easter a chance to start in his best position. Agree with the point about Leads and Partington. Next few weeks should be interesting!! UTG!

Be interesting to see what he has to say today, I expect him to try and avoid talking about it too much but show his disappointment.

I have accepted that we aren't really going anywhere this season so maybe that is why it is easier for me to say that I think other younger players should be given a chance up front. I definitely don't want to see Easter as anything more than a fringe player though if he is brought back.

Yes GGMI you are right we do need to go forward and this will give opportunities to Lucas and other youngsters to be tried out. My point was that Easter has never got a real run at his forward position with MT there and whenever he's on the ball the guy does show a good deal of class. After MT always thought his composure on the ball was one of the best in the club. So don't disagree with you and hope we will see him again. I guess the team for Saturday will tell us something about DCs future intentions. UTG!
