I know I will be questioned but the same person who gave me the information when Easter signed out of the blue has told me what happened from Cardiff City and there offer for the snake. They offered 400000 plus Lambert until the end of the season on loan mid afternoon. We had to agree to pay Lambert's wages of 30000 a month until the end of the season. We (quite rightly IMO) said no and by then, anyway he was completing his medical at the sh**. Cardiff were desperate to get rid of Lambert and wanted his hefty wages off there payroll. As much as I love Lambo even at 34 he is way out of our league. I do not know what happened with Miller at Dover as he was not told about any offer we made (that's if we made one at all). Luke James was originally loaned in at the start of the season as the snake was expected to go, I believe given a run in the team he will prove himself especially as a striker and not a wide man. UTG keep the faith.

I know for a fact Charlie Colkett is on £19k a month - what is this world coming to??? For that I expect a match winner every week at L1!

It may simply be DC didn't fancy Lambert.
We, as supporters, look at everything through rose tinted glasses, even the genius of Gerry Francis didn't work out second time round, Clarke may have thought it could unbalance the squad.
On the face of it not replacing that tosser may seem short sighted or a mistake but we (or certainty I dont) know what manager thought about it. He may have a longer term view and think that we'll score enough for now and he will bring in first choices after a summer clear out.
Problem is when you have the hump you start lashing out, I assume time will reveal what went on and who made what decision and why.

If MT was competing his medical I assume he'd agreed on a deal already so Cardiff could have offered us Lambert for free but it wouldn't have stopped the move, sounds like either BS or Cardiff just taking the p out of us.

MT was on about £3500 per week in his new deal with us. Don't know if anyone out there can find out, but am I right in saying that if a player is bought from us under this sort of deal i.e. We didn't want to sell him, that we can enforce the sh*t to pay up his contract.
In other words, he had 74 weeks left on his deal, so in addition to whatever the contractual figure was, we are entitled to 74 x £3500 which means an additional sum of £259,000. We therefore start getting nearer to the figure I heard which was about £1m. ( £259k plus £325k = £584k.)
The contractual figure I heard was £850k, but I have not been able to get that verified.
