I've noticed on the 'Other Sides' forum an increasing, grudging appreciation of what DC has done for us. They still mock him with the 'Dopey' bit but some recent posters have started to acknowledge his achievements.
Now we know that he likes to have players to work with that he knows...
And Leeds thought enough of him to make an offer he almost couldn't refuse...........
And he doesn't live in Bristol...................
Go away thoughts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know that. Didn't Mark Mcghee get crucified for not living in Bristol?

Some on here are doing a great job at driving him away.
Have a word with yourselves.

Forget it. DC "has things a certain way" and will not be told by Mark Ashton or anyone which players to buy.
It is well known that Lansdown likes a yes man. That's why they never appoint good championship managers. Any fool can see DC is anything but that.

DC would destroy Midget Johnson in a battle of fisticuffs, we can all agree on that

I honestly think that DC would never consider going to them, he gets us I think and totally understands the rivalry.

Can happen. Has happened. They have the money to make it happen.
I am similarly worried. It would be heartbreaking.
I used to think Taylor wouldn't want the hastle of moving to BCFC but he did. He is ambitious. So is Clarke. Clarke could fulfil that ambition there, and we could do nothing whatsoever to stop that. We just have to pray we can offer similar facilities and opportunities ASAP. If they go down, boy could I see him going there. We could not compete on wages, even if both in L1. He's exactly what Labsdown likes - Young and hungry.

Some on here are doing a great job at driving him away. Have a word with yourselves. Agreed. You couldn't blame him for wanting to leave right now tbh. He's given us 2 successful promotions and taken us to the top half in League One for the first time in years. Yet people are still moaning and still doubt his abilities. What a thankless task he has got. It wouldn't surprise me if he got fed up with it and walked at some point in the future, I know I'd consider it.

Do you really think any other club is any different? Fans want success and when they get that..they want more and more of the same. The only thing you can say about 99% of the Managers is that they will eventually get sacked wherever they are. I feel DC is ambitious and yes one day he will go but IMO he is a man of immense principles and that means he would never Manage those tossers over the river and he is certainly not a yes man so couldn't work for Pantsdown. Matty; unlike Lambert; signed for us on a contract that was TOTALLY in his favour with no thoughts whatsoever of anybody other than himself. How he does now will determine whether he is right or wrong. Will City stand by him when he is on his six or seven games without a goal runs to reap the six or seven games where he runs riot goalwise? I don't think they can either afford to or will do that. In their position they need goals straight away so lets hope that Matty has his six or preferably more games where he neither scores or does much.

I think DC's on a mission and wants his CV to show that he took a club from non league into the Prem. So fear ye not, we've got him for two more seasons at least. Then we have to make him realise that he's our Bill Shankly and he'll stay with us forever. Job's a good 'un. UTG!

He originally said his work here wouldn't be finished until we were top half of league 1. Now he is saying championship in 2 or 3 years. When that happens, then maybe he will be saying Prem in X no of years.

A) I don't think he would jump ship over there. B) He's got over two and a half years left on his contract. Couldn't see us allowing them permission to speak to him after this.
