It's coming up on a year since the takeover and i'm quietly impressed how the three work...
These three seem to have their feet on the ground and just get on with the job in hand.
I like the way they carry out their business in a cool, calm, collected way. The stadium project is being addressed methodically and they are wisely taking as long as they feel they have to to get the right deal. A new training facility is bought and about to begin construction which will benefit us immensely. The signings have been thought about sensibly, it was the defense/midfield that required strengthening and i think we've done it. There's no knee jerk reactions from these guys, they don't panic or respond to fan reactions/lack of patience. I have to say despite provocation they even take the water with subtlety!
Supporters want everything now of course, but they stay focused don't panic and do what needs doing and are prepared to sit tight playing the long game. A long way to go yet before they prove themselves fully, but imo there's no need to run before you can walk.
Oh, and three in a row is still possible which would be unprecedented in English football. UTG!

Agreed. Still totally confident EVERYTHING will be OK as long as Wael and D.C. are that the helm. I would not swap them for anyone. We are still a proper Football club and long may it last.
(We are talking Man Love people)!

Good post ! I will reserve judgement on SH, though. I think he is uncomfortable, when challenged & needs to be more empathetic with the supporters. His radio interviews of late, has for me, come across as an irritated individual, who doesn't appreciate what us fans have been through in the recent times & unlike Wael & especially DC, he doesn't seem to understand the supporters. The article which was pulled from the OS yesterday was just another example of this, but fair play for pulling it. Hopefully wrong, but ever since his landing lights scenario, he has not filled me with great confidence. Still, it's good to focus on the positives, positive news re UWE , Training ground, a trip to Wembley & 3 in 3 would cap off the most wonderful time in the last 50+ years supporting the Real Team in Bristol. UTG What "article was pulled from the OS yesterday? There was a sort of summary of the transfer window where it outlined what we'd achieved over the whole window, and obviously played down the Matty bit. It seemed like it might be a bit of damage limitation. I thought it was fine, but some people seemed to think it was a bit defensive. And then it was pulled.

I didn't like the tone of it, was almost patronising & on the Taylor bit quoted 'dispite what our supporters think' we did try to replace him. That's where I was coming from re empathy with the supporters, we had just sold our top striker to the team we hate the most, just sound a little bit on our side!! Chalk & cheese to DC interview.

Well said Jon.
Our players may get poached from us but it is our decision and our decision alone whether we give away our dignity.

UTG What "article was pulled from the OS yesterday? Was it this ? Given that the transfer window was open for a month, it’s amazing how much business was conducted on the final day and concluded only hours or minutes before the 11.00pm deadline. As far as Rovers were concerned, of course, the big news centred on the departure of striker Matty Taylor to our arch rivals Bristol City and the repercussions of that move will almost certainly reverberate around the club in the weeks and months ahead. However, there are many reasons to remain positive about our season in spite of how supporters might feel about a deal that was concluded which Rovers were powerless to prevent. In the last three years we have been relegated out of the league and then won back to back promotions and currently sit in eighth place just three points off of a play-off place. Also, it’s not as though Taylor was the club’s only striker and so his departure gives any one of Billy Bodin, Rory Gaffney, Ellis Harrison, Luke James, or Jamie Lucas the opportunity to step up to the plate In spite of what our supporters think, a number of efforts were made to bring players in before the window closed, but it should be remembered that manager Darrell Clarke did bring in four players in January and didn’t leave everything until the last minute. The first of the quartet to arrive was defender Joe Partington, from Eastleigh, in a permanent move for an undisclosed fee and his arrival was quickly followed by goalkeeper Joe Lumley, on loan from Queens Park Rangers. Stoke City defender Ryan Sweeney then arrived on loan, and he was followed by Middlesbrough defender Jonny Burn arriving in a permanent deal. Although the window has now closed, clubs are still able to sign players who are free agents. One piece of news that escaped attention was the departure of midfielder Liam Lawrence. The former Republic of Ireland international, who scored once in 16 league games for the club, has had his contract cancelled by mutual agreement and is now a free agent. We wish him well for the future. Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/january-transfer-window

Hamer is doing what is expected of him. Chairmaning the club in an efficient, business like manner.
The funny thing about Hamer is, whilst he is new kid to the club, when he did a whole show with 20man early in the Al Qadi days, he revealed his days growing up in Somerset, his school days with George Petherbridge as his PE teacher and his knowledge of the historical state of west country ans specifically Bristol football.
I understand at times he sounds vague or a bit PC, but the guys is treading carefully, keen not to say anything that might conflict contractual obligations to confidentiality.
I think the Al Qadis could have appointed a much 'greyer' chairman, but went for Hamer, because during the brokering process, his knowledge of Bristol football came through. I suspect people who are frustrated by the protracted stadium situation are projecting that frustration on to their view of him.
Keep up the goodwork DC, Wael and Steve.

Well said Jon, top post. You are completely correct. I kind of understand why some have reservations about SH but feel to an extent he has the hardest job of the 3. Wael and DC are our knights in shining armour one for saving the club and one for two promotions. Whilst they face criticism they both also get a good deal of credit, quite rightly, for what they have done and their achievements. And both have pretty good media skills as we've seen today from DC and have a passion for BRFC. SH on the other hand has to deal with the day-to-day business and face up much closer to the frustrations of the fan base over the UWE. His media skills are more appropriate for the business world and perhaps has less of the common touch which Wael and DC have when dealing with us. SH comes across as a more reserved character who is always polite and usually prepared to face up to situations that he might not be totally comfortable with. I expect sometimes he even blesses Wael's love of social media!! He is criticised sometimes because he actually has to say more about the business and infrastructure side which we all know is the weaker part of us as a club at the moment. So I am pretty happy with SH and feels he has done a good job as Chairman in satisfying the huge expectations we fans have. I guess he will face more questions and tricky situations over the UWE in the months ahead. Although I understand the reservation others have, the cool, calm and collected way that Jon talks about is as much about SH as Wael.

I don't get the Hamer dislike so much.
The guy is not a great interviewer, there isn't much fireworks,I get that, he could do with showing more passion and give thoughts that the fans would like to hear.
But he just saying as much as he should regards to situation we are in on and off the pitch.
Wael needs to come forward for me soon, I can't believe our owner is happy about our players moving to the Sh!t of all clubs. I would hope not anyway.

This really shows up some of the rubbish spouted earlier this week by certain other posters whose arses and elbows are indistinguishable.
Two promotions in two seasons, and a squad still heavily-based around Conf players who are a few points shy of the play-offs. Currently higher than all the other promoted teams from last season.
No wonga loan hanging over heads.
New training ground, improved facilities and extra specialist backroom staff for DC.
Not bad for 11 months (WAQ) and just under 3 years (DC).
Of course, some people will never be happy...life's moaners.
