That sir is absolutely brilliant . Yes, bl00dy well spotted. I didn't have a clue, but then, I have never been to Craven Cottage (Even if I had, I probably wouldn't have known)

Our New Solid Defence ? Yes, they looked pretty good & no-nonsense to me on Saturday. True that their winger had Partington on toast 3-4 times in the first half, but he played well linking up with BB, and in clearing the ball in 2nd half. Reasons to be cheerful though. UTG
That wasn't their number 16 Reuben Noble-Lazarus was it?
I wasn't at the game but have been hearing good things about him.

If the centre half is Dave Pyle then the only game I can find him playing at Craven Cottage was on 4/4/1958 which if so then our goalkeeper in that match was Howard Radford. But I'm sure someone will correct me !!

Anyone know the name of this centre half from the "they shall not pass era" ? Just for the record I have had it confirmed by a long serving gashead that it is Dave Pyle and the goalkeeper is Ron Nicholls. It was an FA Cup match v Fulham at Craven Cottage on 1/3/58 in front of a 42,0000 crowd. The Fulham team included Johnny Haynes and Jimmy Hill for those who can remember the old uns. We lost 3 - 1, but a great goal by Geoff Bradford. There is a Pathe News film of the highlights, which is longer than the usual Sky highlights that we are now used to !!! I found it on google by typing Fulham v Bristol Rovers 1958, but don't know how to include it in this thread. Can someone insert it for those that would like to see ??

Brilliant.remember Jimmy Hill and Johnny Haynes playing for Fulham at Eastville.Don't think we'd wear our quarters if we played at Fulham these days.Probably due to Sponsors etc but at Vale next week ,it will no doubt be 'Yellow,Yellow'.

Who was that in goal for Rovers the 1st goal was shocking reminiscent of Roos/Puddy. 60 years on and we still haven't solved our goal keeping problems lol! What an amazing crowd though they used pack them in then!

Am pretty sure it is. Gloucestershire CCC had more footballers than most, Meyer, Jarman, Hammond, Milton and probably a lot more. Of course in those days you could do it.
