Can anyone tell me when BCFC 1982 changed their name to the Sh!!t I just love how we turned the originally derogatory term "Gashead" into a positive sense of identity and they ended up being Sh*theads and The sh** for all eternity.
Masterstroke!

IT was in 1982 that Bristol City FC shamefully pulled the plug on all their debts thus destroying numerous small local businesses, ruthlessly cast aside 8 first team players and a number of other employees and reformed as Bristol City (1982) Ltd.
And let's not ever let them forget it.

Thats exactly why I love us, we turn a negative into a positive. Same at Twerton, we moved out of Bristol and even then the sh** couldnt take advantage as we beat them to the championship. If we had had their millions over the years we would be light years ahead of them now. We've only had money in our club for one year, most of the investment during this time has been spent on the infrastructure, but we are just 15 places away from them. They even had to do a suspicious deal to get one of our players to get them out of trouble. I'm so proud to be a Gashead.

Unfortunately that is incorrect. I have a copy of the minutes of " a special meeting of shareholders of Eastville Rovers Football Club" dated Wednesday August 30th 1899. The special meeting requested " that the title of the company be altered from Eastville Rovers Football Club to Bristol Rovers Football Club". The proposition was carried unanimously. UTG

I read that we changed our name as follows.
Black Arabs Eastville rovers Bristol eastville rovers Bristol rovers
How can we therefore change directly from eastville to Bristol?
I'm sure this was in an official club book?
Anyone shed any light?
