Can anyone tell me when BCFC 1982 changed their name to the Sh!!t I just love how we turned the originally derogatory term "Gashead" into a positive sense of identity and they ended up being Sh*theads and The sh** for all eternity.
Masterstroke!
Its a real shame they haven't adopted our name for them, as we have done to theirs.
Just imagine favourite timeless chants reverberating around Trashton such as "The sh** are going up", "We're sh**, and we know we are" and "Shithead til I die".
Oh wait that would mean actually creating an atmosphere, don't think that's possible there..!

I read that we changed our name as follows. Black Arabs Eastville rovers Bristol eastville rovers Bristol rovers How can we therefore change directly from eastville to Bristol? I'm sure this was in an official club book? Anyone shed any light? I too thought we were known as Bristol Eastville Rovers. Just had a look on Wiki and it states that over a few years at the end of the 19th century we gradually became known as Bristol Eastville Rovers and on 7th Feb 1899 we officially changed our name to Bristol Rovers. So it looks like Bristol Eastville Rovers was never an official name. Although Wiki could be wrong.

As I said in a previous post I have evidence that proves we changed our name to Bristol Rovers Football Club on 30th August 1899.

I loved that black shirt with the yellow strip that we wore for 1 game to celebrate the 125th anniversary, I guess we were the black arabs then? Still got that shirt I wear it to the home games on some occasions. If I remember correctly we played Swindle that day and won 1 - 0 and sir Ricky scored a screamer from about 35 yards?

The Black Arabs 125th anniversary game was v swindle, Rickie did score, but this was 2-2, the thunderbolt must of been the season before: I too love the Black Arab kit, I also like the shirt produced to commemorate the two finals at the millennium and Wembley, they did say we'd wear it for a game but sadly it never happened.
