Sorry got no sympathy for him wish him No harm but seriously what did he think was going to happen all this to go to club in his words STEP UP??? 20TH in championship wow!!! Twat! God I hope city go down this year I don't usually go down the line of wishing other regional teams getting relegated. I just want Rovers to be the top of the heap by being the best not them being rubbish. This season though ......... City and Swindon have not covered themselves in glory....so down they go

Funny how we're all different. With all honesty I'd happily buy Matty a beer and sit down and share a conversation with him if I saw him in a pub I was in.

Why should he not be able to attend anywhere he wants. I get fans being upset, but there is a line. Why should Taylor have to hide from IDIOTS with no self control I don't care enough about Taylor now he's gone to want to waste my own precious time making him feel uncomfortable in public and expect life will see to it for him that he regrets his decision anyway. At the same time, if other people are making him feel uncomfortable in public then I'm not one bit bothered either. Why I commented was because the above post is only one of many similar ones I've seen that didn't get a mention when Taylor was claiming recently in the Post that he was somehow a more hard done by special case, having made his move in the social media era. Maybe he was right to point out that people didn't have the same means of airing mass grievances back in Steve Phillips's day, but he forgot to mention that Steve Phillips didn't have the benefit of a platform where people could attempt to pour oil on troubled waters either. I'll forgive him this omission since I know he's working hard kissing dodgy badges and making a 'step up' the difficult way so that he can relax and take the fast-track elevator back down again in a few months time, but I thought the least I could do was point it out for him. Never let it be said that I have not tried to ease his burden

You are a decent person Jon, I take the view that between him his agent and 82 ers we sold a player worth 1.5 million for 300 K, and we got shafted, whoever wrote up the contract obviously never learnt from the sainsburys watertight deal, I do forgiveness to a lesser degree!

If NH had drawn up that contract he would have been slaughtered on here. I guess the time will come when it will catch up with the new guys.

Can only assume we were forced into the allowing 300K or he would have walked in the summer. we all know he wa worth a lot more. it is what it is. The guy has shown that he is only interested in the money, fully expect him to see out his contract of 2 and a half years if he isn't playing.

Didn't DC say in his extended interview following Taylors transfer that it was HIS decision to allow Taylor to add the release clause?
I do wonder about players who are already eyeing their next move when signing a contract - I'd have told him to * off to Oxford, give players who really want to be here a chance.

Yes I get the anger puckle and please don't take this as against you in particular because I normally agree with what you post but a week after DC explained, what don't people get about the fact that MT could have walked for nothing last summer? He would only sign a contract if that release clause was put in. So we got £300,000 and 19 goals when we could have got sod all. We cant blame "whoever wrote up the contract." DC has said as much. It is as it is and Rovers are challenging it so lets move on. UTG!

If we didnt agree the clsuse Taylor and gis agent would have continued to sell themselves around. Surely the Oxford 'deal' and City transfer are enough evidence to suggest they would have gone where they got what they wanted. If we said a million they would have said bye. Not sure you can balme whoever agreed the contract our side

A few thoughts on MT transfer.
- The club (manager, and above) have played this superbly.
- Lee Johnson, I'm in a catch 22 with this fella. It's crystal clear he isn't going to achieve anything at Bristol City and he's full on nonsense. I quite like- finding it easy to hate their manager. Johnson plays this role fantastically. He's been waxing on this week about how great Taylor. How he's been scouting him for ages. Hold on- mate?! He was free in the summer- if you were scouting him for so long why didn't you go in then? LJ talks like a manager, but he's David Brent- nothing sincere, just another one of the lads... A perverse bit of me hopes they end the season strong. Let LJ sign another 8 in May and give his best to make Europa cup.
- As for our complaint. I hope we've registered it and left it at that. There's no great good to come of it. The best we'd get is another 300k. Rather all hands were on deck for UWE and the run in.
As for Matty Taylor. - surely someone with better IT skills than mine should be editing this video:
Taylor's a Parcelmouth!

Is it possible that what came to light today about Tammy Abraham's car incident made City desperate to sign Taylor at whatever cost (not necessarily financial) to get cover in for Abraham?

I wouldn't have thought an untested conference player at budget price would be the sought after replacement for him. The MT deal was a distraction signing and a big brother type slap to us.
