And so, it came to pass

Is that the 152k debtors figure? Seems a massive amount for a supporters club with annual turnover of 150k That's the figure which jumps off the page. It was cash in the bank last year and now it is owed to the supporters club. I wonder who has borrowed it? edit: I assume those funds were the proceeds from the sale of the Kingswood shop which they leased back? Absolutely, this is probably the area under investigation. Looks like cash has been borrowed by some entity and then maybe that entity doesn't have the cash any more. Also intrigued at the impairment charge of £34k. What asset has been impaired?

This is a real kick in the teeth for all those who give their time freely to keep the Supporters Club running. Shafted by one of their own it would seem?

The Accounts are up to 30th June 2016.
I'm interested to find out what the current Debtors figure is in the Current Assets. Is it still £152,569 (2016) or has it been reduced?
In 2015 it was £18,555 and in 2014 £2,517

It is a real shock that something like this has happened, as posted earlier the volunteers who run the SC are a pretty helpful lot and this will be a real kick in the teeth to them.
As it is in the hands of the Police I hope nobody tries to press the point too hard at the AGM.

As Gasinsider has already said, we want assurances that as far as is possible this cannot be allowed to happen again.
I am still amazed that it was possible for someone to "acquire" the sort of sums indicated in the Accounts without some system preventing it.

As assets belong to the members not the committee or volunteers surely they have a right to know exactly what is missing? On circumstances a "no comment" but to say you have lost an amount of money without defining it is unacceptable. Shades of Christmas Past

Shades of Christmas Past I am not defending them, just reading the statement they can't really comment as it is the Police hands. Pushing for an answer when they can't really give one will create a bit of an atmosphere. I will be attending with hope there is some more information, but wont be taking my pitchfork and rope with me

Just so I'm clear, am I right in thinking that it appears a person unnamed has stolen 150k from the SC funds?
It that right?

The whole lot need to be cleaned out and taken in house. This is big news! And will you organise the travel and collect monies for lottery tickets? The people who run the supporters club do so voluntarily. If it goes inhouse it means people will need to be paid to run it. Can we put put your name forward to volunteer? I notice chewbacca on the other place slagging them off. But then he slags everything that others do off. Only he is perfect. It's much harder to put yourself forward to do things than criticise. This is why JTS and people like him are so important to our club. With the greatest of respect for the volunteers who sell 50/50, coach travel etc., this is about governance. Clearly there's an issue with governance otherwise huge sums of money don't go missing undetected. Also, given that BRSC didn't once hold the previous owners of the football club to account, those at the top of the organisation aren't doing a great job.

Well the members vote everything through and approve each year so the SC executive only meet the standard expected of them.

I assume there must be some idea where the money has gone. With all due respect it is hardly the most complex set of accounts/operations and only so many places money will go out of BRSC. We aren't exactly talking someone talking a tenner out of the Till every day.
will be interesting to hear what procedures are used in the use of BRSC funds

Countersignatories? In the notice for the AGM details are given of meetings held (7) during the year and of attendance. Surely the Treasurer presents a report at each meeting? Minutes, I hope, are kept giving details of what is agreed and voted through. Unless there is a simple explanation for this scenario it is a serious situation. It's the fans' money we're talking about!
