The owners have obviously heard about the UWE being a goer. And want to get out while the going is good.

Um reckon it has less to do with the owners having any inside knowledge of the uwe and more to do with the fact that it's always empty except when we play and Claire doesn't want to run it anymore.

Wael could give the SC the funds . Why would he do that? He doesn't even give DC any funds...

Pantsdown has tabled a bid. He has also put in a bid for the Chippie opposite. He wants them both for one of his franchises he is moving to the Mem, in a couple of years. He has just read the small print of the release clause in the snakes transfer, that he now has to pay £30m for the Mem.

Any other industry or culture under that sort of threat would receive national news air time and government funding grants. Shame as once they are gone, there's no getting them back. I grew up in the friendship in knowle. Breaks me seeing the fine old building now housing a Tesco.

I agree but times and people have changed, theres loads more cafe / bistro /bars about now....not my thing but a lot of pubs didnt help themselves,if they dont do food now theres not much future, except places like the Drapers. Out of the Friendship,Welcome and Fellowship 2 are Tesco now,I bet that theres only half the pubs that there were in the 70s in Bristol and most of them more for meals than drinking pubs.
