Was anything interesting said?? Gentleman's agreement with Lansdown that no first teamers will be transferred between the club's. Confident about UWE but no real news. The disagreement isn't necessarily about the value of freehold vs leasehold but each party protecting their own interests.

Planning permission expires in 2018, not August 2017 as Hamer said. Agreement needs to be reached in that time though.

He did actually say that there will be no dealings between the clubs anymore as per gentlemans agreement , then Geoff said no first team dealings of players to which he agreed , I'm wondering if they have had a gentlemans agreement but in the vein of " don't ever darken my door again" in other words f**k off and don't ever bother with each other again in all aspects

Nothing really needs resolving with UWE but he hopes to have it resolved soon.
Top man mind! Can tell Geoff likes him.

To sort out the Section 106 etc with S Glos and line up contractors etc means the cut off point is really August, although SH did say that date is a bit flexible if we nearing agreeing a deal.
From that interview is Wael suggesting we are still considering leasing the ground from the UWE?

From that interview is Wael suggesting we are still considering leasing the ground from the UWE? When talking about UWE shortly after the takeover, it was said that there will have to be compromise from both sides. So that might be the case. It seems like the discussions are around the land & with that the naming rights, which is lucrative to us. He does sound more positive, and Wael & SH always go on how good people the UWE lot are so if it does go ahead obviously both side want to be able to say this is the best deal for them. I have no idea, how things work, but ..... Can we lease the land but have naming rights on the stadium? If we bought the land, could UWE have naming rights for X amount of time as part of the deal? Would UWE stump up some costs? Could it be a joint venture? Either way not too long to wait for a yes or no on that one, although I didn't hear Wael answer on whether there was a Plan B, so I hope we don't need one, as for me the move away from the Mem can't come soon enough.

Could the drawn out affair be just down to the fact that the delegates from both parties only get to meet up for perhaps an hour or so each week to thrash out deals and compromises and all the big complicated topics such such as costings, lease/ purchase etc could all be pretty much agreed and we are just left with the details that protects both interests ? The sort of details that can't all be sorted out in a hours meeting each week , these things obviously take time and need to be progressed little by little at each gathering of both parties delegates, my opinion but I think the lack of progressive statements and that of not many being in the know leads to widespread panic
