Since January transfer window and the whole "him" business it's all clear to see we are now in limbo til the summer...with the ruling of buying players to your budget we currently have(£400,000)of course it would be nice to have 1-2 million for him but the bottom line is we should be lucky to get £300,000 for him in the current agent/player thinking these days...
A few desperate try's of signing Ricky miller hasn't gone through due to his age of 27 and wanting to wait til the summer as he's trying to get a big signing on fee to secure his future which came to nothing...
Darryl has then realised that's it until the summer..and now using physiological methods of pumping up Luke James his replacement
But looking at Luke's scoring record even when getting player of the year for Hartlepool is pretty bad. And from what I've seen isn't the player to fill the spot( too light weight and plays more of a winger)
He isn't even scoring in the reserve games which concerns me...
Ellis has to me had his best of the year and isn't league one quality..
His hold up play and first touch isn't good enough and he wastes a lot of his energy making the wrong runs...
Gaffney is a frustrating player to watch as he has it all pace/touch/strength/fitness/awareness/great link play...but his finishing has been very poor..I think Rory out of the three has the potential to be a hitman for us and we need a Ricky miller type scorer...
I feel for Daryl and also fear our budget could frustrate him enough to leave unless the stadium goes through soon as it will take some time to build it and reap the awards if we're still in league one to profit off it..
But I also feel frustrated we all knew HE was off and needed a replacement so I do feel it's been a big learning curve for dc and the board and a little disappointed there wasn't a plan b!
realistically we aren't gonna be in the playoffs and if we did some how go up it would straight back down as we don't yet have the structure or resources to sustain a future in the championship yet.
The money from going up would be great but I'd rather be a respected league one club until we could have a proper go at it than be a whipping team...as we can all see in the championship there's no easy games and from the likes of Wigan etc if their struggling we would collapse if we went up this time...
Anyway the point of me posting this is let's not moan too much about
Our forwards as I think if they had one better partner than each other they would blossom but they haven't so let just get right behind them no matter what til the end of the season...come on you blues
