I don't but I wonder if they are youngsters being brought in to see if they could be part of our expanding academy rather than older players.

Anyone know anything about the trialists? I thought Frank Vincent might be a bit old for us now but he was fantastic in Sopranos & Goodfellas....

I didn't see the game so won't say too much but for people who are calling for Luvas to be starting gmes then he surely needs t be scoring in games like this?
The truth is we are just not strong enough up front now whoever plays up there.

I havent seen the game either but can't imagine he's had much service today looking at the result. It doesn't matter who you have up front if the team doesn't create anything.

The truth is we are just not strong enough up front now whoever plays up there. I think that's extremely harsh about Lucas in regard to today's match. A striker is only as good as the service he gets and it seems like Southend bossed this match from start to finish. Looking at the wider point, I will say that all of our strikers have shown, at times, that they have what it takes, without having the form or consistency at the moment. They are all on trial and there is a good contract at stake. I wouldn't put it past one or two of them to step up before the end of the season. One thing we do as fans is to assume that recent history will play out exactly the same way in the short and mid term future, but that's rarely the case. I think someone will surprise us before the end of the season, but if they don't, it's still a great situation as they are out of contract and can be replaced.

Sorry but this was a very poor performance and even the so called more senior players offered very little today. In comparison to the recent Peterborough game this was poor!!

The issue today was the number and quality of trialists. The defenders were especially poor. The goals were from errors by the centre backs and the left back out of position. By the second half they were all bickering.
Luke Russe caught the eye. Lucas held ball up well but you could tell that the majority of the team only met at noon, did not know how we play and did not know where to be on the pitch.
Broom (Captain) tried but seemed to get disheartened by all the errors. By the end, apart from Lucas and Hodges all of the Rovers non trial players were in unnatural positions. Broom, Ellington and Spruce as Cm's and Tucker-Dixon as RB!
