Nothing really new here, but it does confirm the rumours that the Al-Q's met up recently with the UWE to discuss the deal:
Bristol Rovers and University of the West of England continue to try and thrash out a deal to deliver a long-awaited new football stadium in Frenchay.
The two parties have recently confirmed that they are still committed to completing the project to build a new 21,700-capacity venue on land owned by the university.
The project has been beset with problems – including Sainsbury's pulling out of a deal to buy the Memorial Stadium – but those issues were thought to be of minor consequence when the Al-Qadi family took ownership of the club in February 2016

Did Al-Qadi's have to start again with inherited terms and conditions?
Wael Al-Qadi offered a commitment towards taking on the UWE project during the press conference that was arranged to mark has arrival. He has since publically confirmed in his uniquely diplomatic way that the terms and conditions of the deal as originally proposed were not to the new regime's satisfaction. How much of the deal has had to be renegotiated in unknown, but it could be one possible explanation for a delay in coming to an agreement.
Do UWE want to retain ownership of land Rovers would rather buy?
Under the terms of the original deal, Rovers were to own the stadium on land that UWE would receive a peppercorn rent for as part of a long-term lease arrangement. UWE were expected to benefit from a part dual-use agreement along with a cut of some of additional revenue streams. It has become common knowledge that the new owners are keen to secure the freehold as part of a restructured and renegotiated deal.

Are the two parties still haggling over the price of the land?
This is the most likely scenario for the current delay. Rovers will first have had to convince UWE to sell the parcel of land before the two sides get down to settling on a figure that would suit both parties. There is a fair chance that two sides are probably still squabbling over the price per acre.
Are UWE considering another use for the land?
UWE could probably earn almost double the price per acre if they were to consider selling the 24-acre site to a housing developer. There are new-builds springing up on along the ring road and around the UWE campus site. UWE, though, confirmed today that they are still 'keen' on seeing the project through to completion – but their representatives will no doubt be telling them to keep all options open in order to strengthen their bargaining hand.
Do too many cooks spoil the broth?
The two men Rovers appointed to oversee the stadium project – Lee Atkins and Michael Cunnah – have recently left their roles and Dwayne Sports are believed to be keen on adding a more personal touch to the negotiations. Since the turn of the year, the arrival of Wael's brother Hani Al-Qadi and that of his father – Abdulkader Al-Qadi – to speak directly to the people that matter suggests that they are trying to limit the risk of vested interests or bureaucracy.
