Keeping with the thread title - England to beat Germany h Who gives a f**k. They'd thrash us if it was an important match.

Germany didn't even break sweat. What game were you watching gasstrict? England were all over them especially the 1st half, but GGMI is absolutely correct if the match was of any importance the Germs would have just gone up to another level and done us comfortably!

Fact is Germany still managed to beat us without playing anywhere near their best. Always watch an England game and then left thinking I've wasted my time.

Personally I thought it was a good performance from a relatively inexperienced England team, they adapted well (especially in the first half) to the formation that Gareth Southgate had chosen to play.

These last few posts prove how much interest I've lost in the England team, I didn't even know there was a game on until reading gaschat this morning!

Agreed. All very well knocking the ball around but how many times was the German keeper troubled?
Its something to build on as the passing and movement was decent, but we still don't have the quality to make us a threat in the competitions.

Pub lunchtime, have you fallen asleep again Henbury? I'm always asleep, its the Clark's pies that cause me to wake up and do some overpaid work

Agree Phil, but they didn't have a few of their first choice playing either,so i suppose they were under strength aswell.

As a neutral, I actually thought England looked better last night than for some time (albeit it was a friendly). They actually looked like the were playing some kind of system, pretty much kept to it and looked like the knew what they were doing which hasn't been the case in the past. You lot are too hard on your national team, or expect way too much, saying oh Germany played like that because it was a friendly is all very well but it was a friendly for the England players too, whose to say they wouldn't have stepped it up a notch or two as we if it had been a competitive match.
