The Trashton mob have always been a paranoid lot and so I'm not surprised and it's not helped by their owner and all this crap he encourages about one team in Bristol etc. You did the right thing by not laying one on him...well done Gashead...let's show 'em we still are the good-guys.

I was in my local pub in shirehampton a bit drunk with a terrible band playing,i was with some friends a rovers season ticket holder and a city season ticket holder. At the end of the night i loudly requested "irene goodnight" to the band. im 58 but my job is physical and im 6ft but when i made my fun request a city fan who i have never met threatened me and stalked me back to my friends verbally abusing me,i wasnt intimidated but i despaired at the hate coming out of this guy, which got worse when i suggested it was possible we could be playing them next season! I turned the other cheek and my city friend explained it was just fun banter and he left. Point is why has it come to this vile situation where in many cases banter has become hatred? i know there have been hardcore hooligans for years but lately ive noticed ordinary people sucked into the hate and happy to be aggressive to opposing fans just for being opposing fans! Are they worse than us? we were always the good guys i thought but im not so sure now to be honest. If a grand child of mine wanted to wear a rovers or city shirt to say the zoo i would be worried, how cra* is that? I bet I could name the Banned word, good news is he doesn't get out much and prefers to hide behind others.

Shirehampton says it all. You should have ripped his head off and shat down his neck, but on second thoughts you probably did the best thing. Well done, ignore the 6 fingered inbreds. Edit: Apologies to anyone who lives in Shirehampton thoughtless comment. Oi I'm from Shire!

I also grew up in Shire and went to Port way school that had kids from Avonmouth Seamill And Lawrence Weston attending. I recon the split was 60/40 in favour of City as at that time they were in the old 1st Div and a lot of kids were glory hunters. More kids followed Liverpool, Man U Leeds Arsenal or Forest though. Which pub were you in? The Lamps or the George? I am drinking in Shire tomorrow night with my dad and son (PBA) yeah I know we go to all the best places lol!

I think we could confidently change the title of this thread now to 'C**y fan wants to kill himself' Change it to; C**y manager & star striker in suicide pact. A night out in Shirehampton has finally pushed them over the edge!!

I think it's tame compared to the old days, there was real hatred from both sides back then. Not surprised about the city clown though, fair play for not putting on him. The violence is tame compared to the old days, but in my opinion, that`s mainly because of the number of cctv cameras there are everywhere these days. Get involved in a punch up now, and there`s practically no chance of getting away with it. As for the hatred; I don`t think that`s changed at all. There was real hatred then, and there`s real hatred now.
