Fantastic player who epitomises what Darrell's team is all about along with Sinclair, had he not had endless injuries early in his career we would've probably seen it sooner, however, despite those injuries he's already racked up over 130 appearances at 24! That's some going.

Ellis is the latest to be cast adrift this summer by many after his costly mistake last week. He needs our support rather than rejection. OC and the Beard have been rejected by many in the recent past but have come good despite the pessimism, so full marks to them. We must be more tolerant and forgiving towards our Players.

On the subject of Ellis, I believe that if we are to have any chance of the playoffs then he needs to be reduced to a bit part role between now and the end of the aeason. Luke James and Gaffney, what they lack for in quality they make up for in work rate and if we are to be consistent then either of them 2 need to be chosen ahead of Ellis IMO.

At the start of the season I didn't rate OC, but he's definitely come a long way since then.
Brilliant to see him, Lines and Sincs all on form at the moment.

I get where you're coming from, but he is also the most likely of our strikers to hit a hot streak. I think if we were to get to the play offs it's quite likely he will have had a significant part to play in it.

Probably the only one who is likely to hit form, unless Luke James suddenly comes good.. See him as a back up next season though.

If the midfield keep chipping in with goals that could be enough. Ellis should be used as a sub again until he can improve his consistency or until out playoffs chances are completely dead IMO.

You are probably right and hopefully he can do the supersub thing.

This is why I think the 433 system we've been playing recently suits us quite well atm. We have three hardworking, non-scoring strikers at the club - IMO playing two of them at the same time doesn't make a lot of sense.

Agreed, I thought third tier footy would be above his station - a nice guy and a trier, but squad fodder basically. I hate being wrong, but so pleased he's put egg on my face. Credit too to DC, Stewey, SY and the backroom staff for helping him fulfill his potential. Well done OC - keep it up, lad. On your way to being a player we all remember in 20 years time.

Only 24 too...
Arguably got 3/4 more years of improving in him till he reaches his peak.

When I collected Wembley tickets for the Conference Playoff and was walking back across the car park to my motorbike I was lucky enough to meet Ollie and Tom Lockyer. I asked Ollie a really impertinent question without thinking - "Do you think you will be playing?" Being such a nice guy he answered, politely even, and just said he "Hoped so". When I said I hoped so too he was genuinely grateful, it seemed. I then said to Tom "Don't worry, you'll be playing as the gaffer likes you, your his blue eyed boy" which raised laughter from both of them. I don't know if they shared (or still do?) but they seemed firm friends, indicative I felt of how the team sticks together.
Looking back, wow, seems such a long time ago, I really didn't expect either of them to come on as they have. Tom first and now Ollie but it's probably indicative of how DC has brought on the whole team. I suspect DC of creating the "Evolution not Revolution" statement - he had his revolution when we went down and has been evolving ever since bringing the TEAM along with him. Proud to be a Gashead!
