Didn't realise. Was just going through the player ratings page and Norton pointed out that it was The Beards 100th appearance for The Rovers. Congratulations Mr. Sinclair. It is an honour and a privilege to watch you representing my beloved club (albeit through a computer screen). Long may it continue. Fear The Beard. UTG!

It is an honour and a privilege to watch you representing my beloved club (albeit through a computer screen). Long may it continue. Fear The Beard. UTG! Well said you. I think that sincs is playing the best football I have seen him play since he arrived in our conference year. What I like about him; - He never stops
- He never gives up on lost causes.
- He often out jumps far taller players.
- He does have a not inconsiderable amount of skill, pace and ability.
- His determination is incredible - he never gave up his dream of League football - thank god.
- He does score goals.
- Distinctive beard.
- Loves playing for the Gas - or so it appears.
- He has a pleasant interview technique and delivery.
- When the team do a huddle before the match, he actually cannot stop his legs moving.
- I think he is an enigma.
Also remember when you were young, or maybe you still are, and you squashed an ant to kill it. It lies apparently dead for a while and then on leg or an antennae begins to twitch and then it seems to get he other legs twitching and before you know it; up and running around again. That is Sinclair when he has been injured.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs R Sinclair.

Jeff Stelling said the same yesterday.

In the Conference he was my favourite player. Last season I liked him but thought we were better without him in the starting lineup due to lack of football league quality. This season he has totally surprised me, along with Ollie, in that he genuinely does have that ability to play in League 1 as well as the engine. A player I first thought was purely a runner seems to be a footballer too! I'd love another 100, unless we make the Championship, which would be a step too far for him. Or would it?.

I watched him play at twerton for salisbury about 5 or 6 years ago, at the time i said to my mate that everything about him reminded me of mr holloway, never thought for one moment he would ever wear the shirt, love the workrate and passion for the team. Heres to three hundred plus run outs for the gas.

Thanks IVFK. FA Trophy vs Bath....and FA Cup Prelim vs Dorchester.....should both be added to Soccerbase's figure for true totals of Gas appearances. (eg LB, JG OC who played in both?) Correct? Ta in advance.

Sinclair adds even more than the above.
When others are puffing hands on hips, he's off chasing the keeper down at full tilt, legs like pistons. He's then legging it back to our own corner flag. You can't tell me other players don't get inspired by that sh**, because I immediately feel the need to applaud and cheer.
Whether it's the 1st, 45th or 93rd minute, Sinclair is the same. He does not tire, he doesn't flag. He doesn't forget to put the top on the toothpaste. When you've had a party, everyone is reaching for the paracetamol...until they realise Stu has tidied the pad and made everyone a bacon sandwich. Plus he fixed your dodgy tv connection and your guttering is clean. Old ladies near Sincs house are reported to say life is boring now they have no shopping to carry and their walls have all been whitewashed! his neighbour, Mohammed, said "I only made an off hand comment about not wanting to travel to the Alps and I awoke to find an Italian snow capped peak in my back garden"
Sinclair exemplifies all that's good in this world. He's a winner by the most honest means and the perfect pro.

Ta in advance. Correct. I find soccer base good but it doesn't count FA trophy or FA Cup qualifying rounds, so misses out the FAT vs Bath City and FA cup 4th qualifying round at Dorchester. Stu only played in Bath City match so I make it exactly 100 appearances for the Gas. All things being well there are a couple of other good landmarks coming up before the end of the season for Gas players.

Great player at this level & immensely proud to have got into League football.
Met him a few times when he lived near Thornbury, used the word "amazing" lots to describe playing for the Gas - "lucky" was another he used.
We are very lucky to have him, absolute charmer!

I'd love another 100, unless we make the Championship, which would be a step too far for him. Or would it?. We've had a few where we all genuinely wondered if they could make the step up and they have delivered. In spades. I wouldn't put it past players like Sincs, OC, Leads and Lockyer to hold their own at second tier level. 100% commitment and a genuine desire to improve themselves and their fellow team mates. Look at someone like Leon Britton at Swansea, 4th tier to top-level - proves it can still be done in this day and age. I'm less doom-monger than some about our chances if we manage to scrape the play-offs and get the third BTB promotion. We could hold our own in Div2 (I'm unashamadly old money - it's the truth!). I thought we'd be treading water this season, and I've been proved well-wrong.

Great player, possibly used by DC as a stopgap to fill holes in midfield because he knows that SS will always perform wherever he's played without whining and at 100%. Perhaps this 4-3-3 revelation will move him from a favourite to a legend.
How tall is he, by the way?

Looking at it another way as DC finally found the perfect role for him, probably helped by OC finding his level at Div 1, so we have a strong midfield duo leaving Sincs to then do all his work without having to worry about his central CM role. We just need Costa upfront now for the perfect team!

The beard is one of the most engaging human beings I have ever had the pleasure to talk to. We are lucky to have him at our club.
