I don't get this let's just be content with where we are attitude as if DC did last season we'd still be stuck in Div 2, if you don't strive to improve in football (and in life generally?) you tend to go backwards. Although if I was managing a team/playing in one yesterday was a day I'd want a decent performance to keep the travelling masses happy. There is clearly an issue with the team when we keep failing to turn up against the poorer teams, Barrow, Shrewsbury, Chesterfield, Walsall, Port Vale & Coventry, is it a general issue or is it because somebody like Lines consistently fails to turn up for the, seemingly, lesser games, or the whole team just fail to perform? As far as James is concerned what's the point of a striker who rarely shoots at goal, let alone scores, I can't understand why he doesn't play on the wings of us where he could do a decent job, he must be better than Moore anyway! No, people want us to be successful and win as many games as we can but considering where we were starting the 14/15 season people should appreciate where we have come in such a short amount of time. The "appreciation" page and this forum have had a couple of belter posts because of yesterdays result but the reality is whilst promotion would have been nice, we have done really well this season. Rovers fans just have a mindset of we should storm every league and win every game 5-0. We are not entitled to win games just as much as any other team. When you purchase a ticket you do so knowing the team can either play like Barcelona or play like Bristol Rovers, will either win 5-0, lose 5-0, or somewhere inbetween. At the end of the day they are League 1 players. They ALWAYS give their all despite what it looks like on the pitch, some days, they just have a bad day at the office. The fact that their desire has been questioned is quite baffling. As always after a loss people come out and question DC's "stupid" subs/tactics and whatever else, and I can't wait for him to prove them wrong once again. Also this is football. Anyone can beat anyone.

Anyone can beat anyone. Agree. We haven't been in the equivalent of the Championship for 25 years, I think? We've come very quickly from our lowest ebb back to around our historically average position. We should be thanking our lucky stars! Unlike last time we were here, there is a genuine belief that the building blocks are in place to improve again. Those blocks don't appear by themselves though. It has been a great effort from everyone at the club. Reasons to be cheerful.

We just need to win as many games we can between now and the end of the season and see where we're at. A top 10 finish would be a good season for us. I feel we're paying the price slightly for not getting a decent replacement for the snake but DC was quoted as saying he was willing to wait till th e summer to get his top targets and go all out for a promotion next year. Happy to play the long game given our previous record with expensive signings. Pressure on that given last summer his top targets/signings were Hartley, Moore, James & Roos! Admittedly none of those players have set the world alight but I trust dc , everyone slated him when he brought lumley and sweeney in and they have been huge successes

We've come a long way in a short space of time. Very disappointing yesterday and easy to lose sight of the big picture. To improve our consistency quality signings will be needed. This is DC's first season in L1, he has made mistakes with signings, tactics and team selections but he gets more right than wrong. I would like to see Sweeney and Lumley signed along with a decent central midfielder Nicky Law would be my pick. Up front probably the hardest to address, I think a clearing of the decks is in order to get some proper quality and goals in the building.

The thing is players and managers can go in a heartbeat, Snake has left leaving us in the sh** with his head held high (well, as high as a snake can) and he was a big part of our success. The 2 loan players have improved us significantly but chances of signing them permanently are slim, then we will be back to being toothless up front and dodgy in defence. Its only the midfield that is strong (albeit they had an off day yesterday) and will all be here next season. It will be interesting to see how we handle the 2nd season syndrome as we have been fortunate to not have gone through that for a few years, but DC will have to make some crucial summer signings either way. One thing we have missing all over the pitch is pace and that is what frightens people in football, without that you can become too predictable and cumbersome. Dont get me wrong im over the moon at how far we have come but there is no point patting each other on the back at the past and not be looking at how we can improve even more in the future.

I might be wrong but I think Moore has another year on his contract. Indeed he does. Oh dear.

Either, may as well make himself useful if he's here for another season.

We've got a great manager a hard working squad with a fair bit of talent and a board that are professional and have money to spend and are spending it on bringing our club forward.
