We'd be level on points with Millwall now had he not missed that sitter at Bolton and tried that backpass against Scunthorpe. I suppose we can blame Ellis for letting in all those goals in the first half of the season as well, No I blame not having a decent keeper and have said as much in recent posts. 2day is bad but at least that problem was corrected.

My point, which i am sure you would well know, is that a better keeper and we could have been better off, but Ellis is scapegoat of the month currently

He should take his football more seriously and he might be a decent player but I think his off the field antics will catch up with him before he gets chance.

I know a neighbour of his and Tom Lockyer, speaks very highly of Tom, total opposite about Ellis.

Could you list all his terrible off field antics? No, wouldn't be fair to Ellis without him being able to defend himself. Certainly not the sort of thing you'd expect from a pro footballer though i'll say that. I seriously believe if he makes a lot of sacrifices for the sake of his football he would have been a very good player.

I believe some supporters of Ellis do so as a way of trying to protect him from the boo boys. Nothing wrong with that at all. But I think it all clouds the fact he hasn't been doing enough and probably needs a change of scenery. Oh so you're a mind reader now. Could it not be that some people don't actually share your oppinion of Ellis.

He is out of his depth in League one . Could do a job for Newport or Yeovil next season.
Will be very disappointed if he is with us next season.

I know someone who is related to a very good league player who played with Ellis. He said when he was young he was completely head and shoulders above everyone. The other player now plays at a higher level than Ellis and is a first team player.
I also heard through others that he a music producer and is actually quite successful. I am not sure if anyone can verify this, but as a former DJ I can say that playing clubs on the weekend or week is entirely incompatible with playing professional football. I wonder if this is true, as if he thinks he can do well in this then he isn't as committed to football, and it would explain any rumours of a hectic personal life.
Being really good when you are youth team I think can spoil the attitude of players. If he is intersted in other stuff perhaps he just isn't that committed to being the best player he can.....who knows. It could just be a rumour and BS.

Bye bye brirgas we don't need so called supporters like you 👋 And you called me childish? If we are to move forward we need to get rid of players that are not up to it. Harrison is a prime example. How am I a 'so-called' supporter for wanting the club to move forward?

Obviously everyone hoped that ellis and rory or even luke james would step up a level when taylor departed and it just hasnt happened. In my view ellis and rory are average about 10 goal a season league 1 players but nothing more right now. If we can get better than 10 goal average strikers then great but i dont think its all that easy especially if the budget remains modest.

A player is 'only as good as those around him'. In my view this is one of the weakest strike forces we have had in many many years. I think Ellis could have been a much better player if he had experience like Roberts Lambert Duffy around him. The fact is Ellis played in a weak front - line and is no better or worst than the rest.
Which means it is highly likely all the strikers at the club will be released and not only one scapegoat..

That will still leave 2 or 3 spaces in the squad for new strikers.

But how "modest" is our budget if we losing a £1m per every season? What other Div 1 teams are losing more than us a season?
