Didn't see that coming. Will be interesting to see if DC promotes from within.

1) what was the celebration about? Seemed very important to Elis to celebrate- I think with the dugout... does anyone know why this was?
2) Fairplay to him. I struggle with Elis. I thought he was a having a mare on Monday- but he stuck at it, worked himself into the game, got a goal and stopped a shot that likely could have been destined for the net. This season he has shown greater maturity. He's now works hard for the team and has a chance of making it.
Finally, if Elis is to kick on- I think he should 'charge' to the penalty box more often. He's bringing people into play, and then semi following the ball to make an angle for the return. Hard to criticise that. More and more he's winning the ball with ease and it's good that he wants to help team mates. But... we need someone in the box- after Hartley, he's possibly our best headerer of a football. If he can keep doing the first bit but then seek the box he'll quickly find himself scoring. The answer to 1) will be soon revealed by the person he hugged
As for 2) after a poor first half the goal lifted Ellis and the rest of the match showed what he is capable of and if only ....... he could repeat this on a regular basis. Ellis has all the attributes and perhaps as he grows older he will prove to be the player we all want him to be.

Surprised they let Macca go as he's doing his badges. Would be ideal replacement.

Surprised they let Macca go as he's doing his badges. Would be ideal replacement. I know what you're saying but we don't know these people and their attributes like DC does. Also who knows if Macca wanted even to stay in the area. Yates is a lifelong gashead and a very humble man to have taken the job of kit man on having played to the level he played to. I think he is a big loss as he obviously also brought a lot of knowledge. It is like gold dust to find this combination of humility, endeavour and skill in someone who is essentially behind the scenes, but DC has had time to think about a suitable appointment and I think he'll make a good call.

Although SY leaving is a bit of a shocker as he's played a massive part in turning the club around, if he'd been head hunted by a bigger club I could understand but just to return to Crete seems a bit boring!

Real shame as he's a great unassuming guy whose done a good job and will be missed. I guess with Brexit if he does not go back now then it might not be possible in a couple of years. Thanks Steve for all you've done and good wishes for the future.

DC has a ex player/mate down at Portsmouth, maybe he has him lined up.......

A real shame to see SY go as he seems like a proper decent bloke. Remember him posing for photos long, long after the final whistle after the Daggers game and he just seemed to be in shock at what had happened. Wishing him all the best in Crete.
And it turns out that there was something in the Harrison celebration after all...

Well, reading that brought a tear to my eye. Really sorry to see Steve go, a true gashead and will always be a legend here.

I'm actually a bit gutted about this news. I've really enjoyed watching the few interviews he's gone, and he's always come across as a really likeable and knowledgable guy. I was hoping he'd at least temporarily take the reins along with Stewie, if/when DC eventually moves on. Not to be though and wish him all the best in Crete. UTG!
