NH/TW were ridiculed for saying they set the playing budget on a 9,000(?) average attendance, if it's now 15,000 that's an hell of an increase in expenditure even on that figure as 6,000 x £15 is an extra £90K per match/£180K per month/£2m per annum! As far as the wage budget post January being mid table, as does that work out as we lost high earner Taylor plus Roberts, Roos, Boateng & Colkett but only gained Lumley, Sweeney, Partington & Burn. If the latter two are big wage earners then why the hell weren't they playing regularly. Do we now have a problem that Gaffney & Harrison want similar deals? Unfortunately for Gaffney & Harrison their 'stock value' has probably dropped after last season - their bargaining position is now probably fairly weak with regard to an improved contract offer. Conversely as an example, Billy Bob & DC's stock has probably risen since signing their existing contracts and adjustments to their wages may be re-negotiated through their agents. Personally I think Gaffney & Harrison were fortunate to be offered anything. I guess that depends on whether any other league clubs are really interested in signing them as DC claims.

Surely the fact we've been losing a £1m+ a season suggests our break even must be far greater than our income from attendances etc. If the average ticket price is, say, £15 that's a 66,000 shortfall in fans a season, or nearly 3,000 fans a match. So if the losses are £1m we need nearly 12,500 fans per match. The worry is if DC want's a bigger wage budget where it's going to come from as attendances are probably maxing out at the Mem? Which begs the question, are we really overachieving or just achieving? looking at it another way - the average wage for a Div 1 player is £1300 per week - in the championship it is £7000 per week - there is every incentive for all the players to win promotion (or slither away like a snake) and the Club has to get an income to be able to pay those wages Feck me. I didn't think it was that much of a quantum leap. I wonder what our break even figure is now the Wonga loan is off of our books and offshore in Dwane's books ? Watola said it used be 9000

I understand what you are saying but people are interested in finding out why Rovers have a top 7 attendance figure but a bottom 8 budget.Should my hypothesis be correct we are using the revenue produced from about 2000 fans at every home game just to pay interest on the Dwane Sports loan. If they are planning to convert it to equity at a later stage why not do it now so that instead of paying interest the cash could be put towards the playing budget ? It is simply not true we had a bottom 8 budget by the end of the season, as explained by Steve Brookfield at the recent AGM.
At the beginning of last season we may have been close to a bottom eight budget but from the December transfer window to the end of the season it is believed we had a budget about 12th in the division. It was estimated that Bolton were first followed by Charlton.
Bolton are sticking their coats on a dodgy peg. They were 100's of millions in debt. How are they doing this ?

He also Taylor wouldn't be sold, even for £10M........

To save people time reading this, gasincider is a prick for telling us what he hears and a prick for not telling us what he hears. And people wonder why no one shares information anymore. Congratulations everyone. Jools used to get info from ex directors and their mates but even they now don't get to get theninside news as it seems. It looks like that the club have definitely got much more professional and don't allow the cliques to get their bits of news. I know it sounds odd but I preferred it when we had a few loose lipped people mentioning no names but the stronger ales made it easier

Since you seem to know, could you pop them in the right order ? Thanks. Steve Brookfield said at the AGM we were about 12th.
Forget what DC has been saying. His comments are usually after an away defeat and he is a bit upset.
Thank you for that. It gives info plus reinforces what I've seen in DC in recent interviews. Let the man have a wee rest

What Henbury has a "friend" in planning at South Glos Council? First I've heard of this..... Who remembers Roadmans bestest friend ever who he hardly ever talked about.....? inb4 roadman gets a text from one of his mates informing him someones digging him out on here and roadman comes on calling everyone a Banned word Tended to kick off big time. I don't know him so don't want to offend but came across as split personality indeed

Swiss, isn't it the case that interest must be charged but the real concern is if it is taken or written off? I can’t see why the loan should not be interest free if it is coming, albeit indirectly, from the Al-Qadi family cash resources. But if the interest charge is purely theoretical and the cash is actually remaining in Rovers bank account then there must be another reason for such high break even attendances and tight budgets. Sorrry and pardon me swissgas but what are the breakeven attendance figures please. I've now read through this whole thread twice and habe either scanned or misread or they've not been posted. Thanks in advance

According to the clubs interview on the retained list, there are a lot,of clubs interested in both and it's not in stone they will stay. My feeling is Gaffney is happy but Ellis is not. I think Ellis would be happy to join snake but for much different reasons. Just my opinion

Ellis can go if he doesn't want to be here. He is hit and miss. He yet to step and take his chance and been in first team for several years now.

Long John Silver and 2 Vagina's walked into the Robins. Silver asked for a barrel of rum and a packet of pork scratchings. The Barman said "sorry we don't serve Pirates, and we've got enough lady gardens in here already"
