To save people time reading this, gasincider is a prick for telling us what he hears and a prick for not telling us what he hears. And people wonder why no one shares information anymore. Congratulations everyone. This is the very reason i don't post anything on here about any planning info i get from my mate who works for South Glous planning. I only send out what little info i get to people i know via the message service Really? A mate in planning? You never mentioned that before!

Sounds fair enough to me.

I was there last night and all the same questions were asked and all the same answers were given. Both parties working hard to conclude a deal etc...... WAQ was there last night and was his usual good humored self but Steve Hamer did most of the talking. SH did say he spoke to Joe Lumley after Sundays game and the JL said he has enjoyed his time here and would like to return to Rovers next season if something can be worked out with QPR. One thing I found interesting was that we are still receiving payments for Scott Sinclair which in 2017 will total £50,000. How or who is making these payments I'm not sure, I'm assuming it's Chelsea. Training ground planning application going in, in the next 5-6 weeks and then it will take 12-16 weeks to get through the South Glos planning process. Mem pitch to get a new £80,000 drainage system installed over the close season. Not much else to report really. Don't know why, but I thought the training ground was signed, sealed and delivered? Obviously not.

The current drainage system is non existent so needs to be done How many matches were waterlogged this season? None, but it's not just that, obviously the quickness of drainage effects the quality of the pitch

I didnt attend last nights agm, probably a good decision as it sounded a bit of a non event, as to be expected when one person holds a majority shareholding. However I recall a couple of years ago the subject of collapsed drainage being raised at an agm and thought it had been addressed previously, perhaps someone else may have a better recall or has retained old minutes of the meetings and could confirm

I don't like the sound of the pitch bit, why spend that sort of money if we are planning on moving out, says to me we are not going anywhere The club receives grants for ground improvements every year, grants that are used to update the current stadium, can't be spent of putting towards a new stadium, so it seems reasonable to expect some ground improvement grants with being an EFL member.

Let's assume UWE deal is done this summer, construction starts December 2017 and it takes a 2 year build period then we could feasibly still be at the mem for another 2.5 / 3 seasons. (I really wish I hadn't worked that out as I am now slightly depressed!)
Upgrading the drainage could therefore be worthwhile, especially if this includes pop up sprinklers and we see the back of the green wartime hydrants!
Another positive is that it also again shows how DC will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of excellence. If this in anyway can help keep our home results as strong as they have been over the past 3 seasons then it makes sense.
If you are not convinced by those arguments then how about this.....if it keeps him happy and at Rovers then I say give the man exactly what he wants!
UTG!

You don't get rich by thinking £80k does not matter, the few wealthy people I know are all careful when spending that sort of money. Few clubs make any operating profits, they know what they have signed up for. I guess it also depends on how wealthy you are. if i had 10 million probably wouldn't by a football club, but if a family has 100's of Millions, 80 k for a drainage system would go unnoticed.

I can't see what difference our owners wealth makes to spending £80K on a new drainage system as with a turnover of £5m and a wage budget pushing £3m, £80k is hardly a vast sum for the club to spend. Although looking at the pitch at the end of the season you do wonder why we're bothering plus didn't the (ex) groundsman recently win an award for the pitch?
