I wonder what he would have wanted in return for his investment?
I think he was the guy in charge when they went tits-up in 2012 so its not surprising the fans are a bit wary especially if he was made a significant shareholder.

Yeah, afaik, as far as Darlington fans are concerned, he f**ked them over and put them into administration. Imagine we had gone into administration in 2014, and then Nick Higgs, say, had come back a few years later when we were in the Southern League offering to take over the club again. Can't imagine he'd have got much support on social media for that.

Pretty he was somebody called Reynolds, or something similar, not Singh, with the ground effectively financed with illicit money, not sure what the comparison here is with Rovers in the past or present.

It just goes to show, if the Al-qadis had any intention of shafting us, (and most people never thought they would) we'd have seen signs of it a long time ago.
I feel they have completed one of the more friendly takeovers which have ever happened anywhere in English football.
It could all have gone so badly for us once Nick Higgs got desperate.

I can't see the ALQ's would have ever wanted to tarnish their investment banking reputations shafting us, they are hardly Indian chicken farmers? As far as NH getting desperate perhaps he was or perhaps he sold up to the buyers who were the best for the club.

Yes, so far so good. I am optimistic but still wary as fortunes of clubs and owners can change so quickly for so many reasons. It can never be totally healthy to depend so much on one person but that is the reality for so many clubs, we at least have the backing of a family as far as we can tell

I genuinely believe Higgs sold to who were the best for the club, his tenure at the club was awful but for all his short comings he was a gashead.

I seem to remember that one of his more endearing traits was his ability to crack safes. He went semi-legit when he started a timber business, MDF boarding I believe. Perhaps by buying up the club and building the new stadium he was trying to join the upper echelons of North Eastern society. I guess the moral is that the leopard really doesn't change his spots, or something like that.

Yeah great album seen them back in the day supporting Blondie at the Colston hall UTG Will you still call it Colston Hall after the revisionists have airbrushed 150 of history? I know I will.

I guess the moral is that the leopard really doesn't change his spots, or something like that. Or, don't build a 25,000 seater stadium for a team with 2,000 fans. If only they'd built it on wheels. We could have had that.

Will always call it Colston Hall and for the life of me i cannot understand we they want to rename it You cannot change History and you can't air brush it out either Shame on the people who decided this, they will lose out in the end because i for one will not go there again. Its a sh** tip and there are far better venues not far away to go watch Take That and Steps...

Colton hall is far from a sh** tip, when did you last go there!? As for renaming, I'm unsure, but am sad it will be named for a sponsor and that the institution needs that money to survive,

Probably still got the programme somewhere.
