Christophe berra is going to scotland, John akinde has never scored goals at L1, Tarpey is unproven, Windass would never join as he is on good wages and a first team regular and Karl Henry is too old. Lumley is probably the best suggestion but it is still anyones guess as to whether QPR would want to let him go. in other words - no one is good enough, young enough, cheap enough, or available - might as well give up then

Steve Morrison would be a good signing, talismanic striker, can't see him playing in the championship, we need quality over quantity, decent keeper a must.

Wouldn't touch Henry or Akinde tbh. Can't see Rangers wanting to sell Windass, and if so I wouldn't pay 250K for him.
(Not based on Akindes last stint with us, I just don't think he's a good fit for the way we play).

Berra and Henry - both players we would've signed 5 years ago (on their way down looking for a pension). Windass - Can't see him leaving rangers for League One and doubt they'd want to sell him. Akinde - Would take him on a free, not for £500k. Tarpey - Possibly worth a gamble, but he hasn't proven himself at anything near this level so he's certainly not guaranteed to take us up. Lumley - An obvious yes. I think £250k is a bit optimistic though as that would be an absolute steal.
So it's either a no from me or a bit unrealistic. Apart from those 6 though you're not far wrong. I agree that signings 7,8,9&10 will be young loan signings. UTG!

The chances of your average football supporter passing an entrance exam into Oxford or Cambridge University ,is possible but unlikely, it's like asking a man to to drink a bottle of whiskey down in one , then give a flawless speach on how to prevent an itchy fanny,to 500 women , from the women's institute, possible but unlikely.

1] joe lumley age 22 QPR £250,000 2 year deal 2] christophe berra age 32 ipswich free 2 year deal 3] karl henry age 34 QPR free 2 year deal 4] josh windass age 23 rangers £250,000 2 year deal 5] dave tarpey age 28 maidenhead ? 1 year deal unsure if he is under contract 6]John akinde age 27 barnet £500,000 2 year deal 7,8,9, and 10 young loan signings Get these in and get promoted. John akinde matured into a regular goal scorer with 3 seasons of smashing in the goals. Of course this is a bit of fan fun in the close season but when dc reads this list he will totally agree with me im sure. I predict DC signs none of these players.

I did say it was "fan fun" in my op,thats what all the speculative mention of various players by various posters is. Our budget will not allow us to sign most of the players on my list anyway.

I'd rather spend £500k on booze , Gambling ,and Prostatutes, than waste the money on John Akinde. I already have and believe me it was fun.Me too, trouble is i cant remember most of it!!!

THe IQ thing was an error,it was frustration caused by early replies to the thread. All football fans are thick neanderthal idiots including me everyone knows that. 'When Neanderthals and modern humans interbred they were actually at the edge of biological compatibility. They did interbreed, and Neanderthals left an important biological trace in modern humans, but nevertheless, the population had to sort out some problems afterwards, because certain Neanderthal variants led to reduced male fertility, these finding suggests that most Neanderthal DNA found in humans today was passed down from females'. So it would appear that problem is being passed down by female football fans if the problem identified by Bluebutterfly does indeed exist.

Akinde would be a good addition not many better at l1 or l2 level as a target man and we've been desperate for one this season

Steve Morrison would be a good signing, talismanic striker, can't see him playing in the championship, we need quality over quantity, decent keeper a must. I agree that someone with the 'nouse' of Morrison would be an asset. He looked sharp against us and in the play-off games, but I think Millwall will want to keep him. Lumley has to be our no1 goalkeeping target - even if on a season long loan.
