A bit of a cock up allowing Jadon Sancho to leave Man City for Dortmund. The boy has incredible talent and was named the best player at the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. The most promising English youngster we have at the moment. The good thing is Dortmund won't be afraid to play him, even though he's 17, and I can see him getting game this season, he's that good. I just hope he doesn't peak too early or burn out like so many have before him. I think that's just the reason he's gone to Dortmund. He know's he's good but also know's he's not going to be anywhere near the first team at Man City. Like you said he'll probably get game time at Dortmund, the likes of Julian Weigl, Emre Mor, Felix Passlack and Christian Pulisic have all got plenty of games under their belts by the time they were 18 and are all cracking young talents. It's great to see a lad like Sancho do what very few English players do and move abroad, especially to Germany where they have a conveyor belt which consistantly produces top class young talent.

I think it is a good move for him, Dortmund and English football in the long term, but I'm still surprised they let him leave. I would have had him in and around the first team challenging Sterling for a place. Good luck to him, I'll be watching his progress with interest.

Free agent winger Gevaro Nepomuceno has joined Oldham on one-year deal. The Curacao international has 4 goals and 28 caps and is a former Maritimo, Fortuna Sittard and Den Bosch player. Is the loan window still open then? Oldham have announced the signing of Dutch winger Queensy Menig on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Nantes. The 22-year-old former Netherlands U21 international, who spent the previous two seasons on loan with PEC Zwolle, secured a move to Nantes from Ajax last week, but will spend the rest of the campaign in Sky Bet League One. Menig has scored 14 goals in 67 Dutch top flight games and 11 goals in 31 second tier games from the wing. Oldham have also announced the signing of 26-year-old former France U19 international midfielder Abdelhakim Omrani on a one-year deal.

I expect the loan was completed before the deadline but for whatever reason there was a delay in announcing it.

The Menig signing in particular looks a good signing on paper and having watched a few clips. I just updated the post to include some stats: Menig has 14 goals in 67 Dutch top flight games and 11 goals in 31 second tier games from the wing. I wonder if we'll see these 3 signings in a couple of weeks?

'Oldham Athletic chief executive Mark Moisley says the club could be just weeks away from sealing new investment. Football agent Abdallah Lemsagam is understood to be purchasing part of the League One club and has been at a number of Latics games this season.' www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/41147622

Didn't Brown mention he was signing a player who would "turn heads" 3-4 weeks ago? So far I cant see anyone who matches this including Richardson!

I was thinking the same. Perhaps he meant Rob Kiernan who he signed from Rangers? I wouldn't exactly call that a head turning signing though. Maybe the deal feel through for the player he was talking about.
