If it was a house you wouldn't pay £5K for a new kitchen if you expected moving out in a year or two, it just seems odd timing to spend it this summer, and not last summer, when we've only got 6 months to go until work as to start on the UWE. It's not like the pitch was in a terrible state at any point last season. Let's face facts there's zero evidence of anything happening with the UWE or The Colony projects at present bar SH apparently waving some fantastic plans about for the latter. Just replying to the kitchen bit and nowt else. I did just that, in preparation for sale. Would you not spend the money if you knew it would repay you handsomely ? Actually, just thinking and expanding on it. * IF* the AQ family decided Bristol was the place to see projects die then I guess selling with the new "Kitchen" would add value. Selling with planning also brings more value. We have a real part to play. We could be pushing people out. Anyway, the sooner we move to games again, the easier this will be, I hope. Rovers could play in Southey park and I'd still watch

Just excerising my right to moan like everyone else. I am sure some people find it boring also😃 I just dont get that we have been told August is the deadline, yet everyday someone wants to know something, or wants to tell us they know something but doesnt know why we havent been told. A couple of months people. Hold tight and then you can let rip if needs be. Off to the beach with my baby and to enjoy the sunshine now. We were told we were coming in to land with the wheels down 6 months ago. Should we have stopped asking why and just let it run forever? of course not, but since we have been told August is the deadline. We now know the end point, so what uae is it to ask for anymore information when we should know definitifly pretty soon. It seems like a different version of the same thing every other day. The end is sight one way or another. I just dont get why the speculation cant just be left alone when we are so close to the end. There will be plenty of time for the inquisition later

Did the Chairman not make 'that' statement during the takeover announcement 16/17 months ago?

Rovers could play in Southey park and I'd still watch I can't honestly see a decent bit of turf at the mem making much difference to it's value when we come to sell it. I'd also watch Rovers anywhere but would sooner watch Championship, or better, football at the the UWE than Div 1, or worse again, at the Mem.

There will be plenty of time for the inquisition later I seem to recall we were given firm dates about the pre-season friendly in Spain Portugal but many weeks have elapsed since the deadline was given for that confirmation.
I'm glad I made alternative arrangements as I fear that game may never take place.
How's the beach?

Beach was nice and enjoying a beer in the caravan now thanks. I am not saying dont question, never question. Over the years i have always been one to question. Surely the time for questions on the stadium is August, if or if we ha ent been told anything. What is anyone gaining by bringing it up every other day? As for Portugal, I havent paid attention to the happenings or lack thereof. Absolutley question the club, if you have purchased the official travel package.

I fear if we have to wait until August the news will not be good. If there is positive news why would they wait until effectively deadline day to announce it - I'm sure the AQ's are not playing brinkmanship. Equally no news could be be seen as a positive - depending on how you want your look at it.
Has SH said that if it is not agreed by August all bets are off - not in so many words but I think he may of.

SH, & I believe Wael as well, have said if a deal can't be agreed by August it's unlikely the stadium will go ahead as we'll be unable to start work before pp expires in January but why push it that close to the edge if a deal's been agreed.

I wonder if DC is confident about the stadium and this is why he is still here just a thought!

If it was a house... So your kitchen isn't up to scratch and you plan to move in 18 months? Do you spend 5k on the kitchen of your house which is worth X? Or Continue with your malfunctioning kitchen for 18 MONTHS then sell your house with the ragbag kitchen which will devalue the property?100k is probably not much in the scheme of things and considering this UWE thing will take a while to build 30k a year to keep the manager happy isn't asking much.
A) If the ground was sold it is likely to be bulldozed so the state of the pitch/condition of the stadium wont matter. B) If the ground is 'malfunctioning' it certainly doesn't show with the results over the last few years.
I Didn't bring up the house analogy. The manager has commented on the pitch..

If you want to compete in league one, and play the kind of football we do, then you need a good playing surface. That needs investment year on year.

Good point even if we get the nod for UWE (BIG IF) we will still be playing at the mem for 2/3 seasons so the pitch needs to be top notch!

And i am sure you know the difference between approved and signed off. A deal may have been agreed in prinicipal but any changes will need to be drawn up legally sent of, signed etc. No different to buying a house is it. It all takes a period of time, it doesnt simply appear. Depending on how the finance is sourced we are probably talking more than just 2 parties signing agreements Great point. That can be a kin nightmare. The better half had it take 3.5 YEARS on property in Cornwall and due to some bizarre stuff. One being rights to any valuable assets underground, duchee of Cornwall stuff. The only assets under UWE is coal - built on the old Harry Stoke Colliery.

Actually in construction and development terms that's a major risk and liability not an asset, find an old coal mine and it will cost you dear to fill / plug the hole!

Particularly if the pitch is being set 7 metres below surface level. I'm sure they would have realised this - wouldn't they!! ?

Our home form in the last 3 seasons suggests as far Rovers are concerned it already is top notch. In fact if we were move to the UWE then chances are for the first couple of seasons the pitch we do well to be any better than the present Mem pitch.
