Haven't had a chance to read all the posts but I hope someone has pointed out good signing on paper doesn't mean actual good signing. Exactly same applies with a bad signing on paper. A lot of DC's signings haven't been good on paper but have turned out well, despite being written off by some from the start. True, but early in the close-season and more money than DC has ever forked out before, indicates that this must be one of DC's top priority targets, so that's something.

It might have been in L2, but let's hope Sercombe rediscovers his 15/16 form - 14 goals ( plus 3 in cups) and 7 assists. Very impressive.

Quality signing, well done WAQ & DC, certainly moving in right direction. 1 down, 9 to go. DC must have been given an improved budget. Whats not to like ?

Blow for Charlton as Oxford United star snubs them for Bristol RoversBy Kent Live | Posted: May 31, 2017 Charlton Athletic have missed out on signing Oxford United midfielder Liam Sercombe. The former Exeter City star has decided to move to fellow League One side Bristol Rovers. Charlton were strongly linked with a move for Sercombe last week as they look to bolster their squad for a promotion push. But they've been dealt a blow this lunchtime as Rovers have announced his signing for an undisclosed fee. Luton Town and Scottish side Hibernian were also believed to be keen. The Hatters were thought to be in the chase for the Oxford United midfielder along with Hibernian and Charlton. But Rovers have nipped in to sign the 27-year-old player, who was frozen out by boss Michael Appleton towards the end of the season for unspecified disciplinary reasons. Although the fee is undisclosed, it is thought Athletic had been prepared to make an offer of between £100,000 and £150,000 for the former Exeter player. Rovers boss Darrell Clarke told the club's official website: "Liam was one of my top summer targets. "I was interested in signing him a couple of years ago as he is a quality attacking midfielder and I am delighted that he has agreed to join us. "I'm sure that our supporters will remember him from his time at both Exeter and Oxford and will welcome and appreciate the way he plays the game and I am grateful to the club's owner and directors for their backing as we prepare for next season." Perhaps DC told him something about the stadium that helped him decide to join us?

Perhaps DC told him something about the stadium that helped him decide to join us? Nah it was an easy choice for him. Oxford have 3 stands whereas we have 49

Welcome to the gas Liam.
Looks a quality signing and it's great to hear how keen he was to join us too.
Thank god (well DC and WAQ actually) for some real news at last! Looking forward to some more announcements coming through now.
It feels like i've been checking this bloody forum almost on an hourly basis since the season finished and the amount of waffle and BS I have had to read is unbelievable. That's a significant amount of my life that I will never get back you know!
UTG!

How often do we read articles like that and we're the club that has missed out?
Refreshing we're beating other teams to signings!
