It's good to win the tournament, but some of the reaction on Facebook and various sites is over the top. It's under 20's and most countries have no way near there strongest squads. The top players will already be playing U21's or full internationals. A lot of the players that played for the various countries, will never make it as a professional.

It's mainly an amateur tournament, how many professionals so you think the opposition had? Serbia win it 2 years ago, Ghana have also won it in the last 10 years, 2 well known international power houses lol. Still nice to win any tournament, but any player good enough, would all ready be with the U21's of the big nations. Thats what gives the smaller countries a chance and it's completely different to professional football. It does show that we have more strength and depth at international football now.

I guess you deliberately ignored the fact they best Brazil in the final and France were recent winners, I don't think anybody on here is suggesting it means anything, senior football wise, but it makes a pleasant change for us to actually win something.

I said it's still good to win it, but people were going over the top. On Facebook people writing give them a chance at senior level and it shows we have a chance of winning the world cup in a few years now. We have some good players coming through anyway, but this is basically an amateur tournament, so people are going well over the top. Not even our strongest side Rashford with the senior team and others with the U21's. Will be the same for every country, so it's hard to say how good these players will become. The biggest thing it shows is that we have a greater number of players coming through. We can have a number of 20 year olds playing for the U21's and U20's. The players that are not as highly rated, still won the tournament. I was just saying people were going over the top. Not even our strongest team and I expect it was the same for a lot of other countries.

Actually if you care to check your figures you will find that the under 21s in Germany.france .spain and Italy play far more first team football than they do in this country, the average in Germany is 5 times what our players play and in the german case 75% of their national senior squad have come through all levels of junior football at international level so your argument is a bit fallacious

David Silva, Koke, Denis Suarez,Paca Alcacer and Isco all represented Spain in previous World U20 tournaments. Kurt Zouma, Umtiti, Paul Pogba, Lacazette, Koulibaly and Griezman represented France. James Rodriguez for Columbia. Joao Mario and Andre Gomes for Portugal. Ronaldo and Nani also represented Portugal in an U20 World Cup. Neymar, Oscar and Coutinho have represented Brazil. Mario Goetze and Toni Kroos have represented Germany. These players have all gone on to play for the biggest clubs in World Football. This is a huge achievement for England, they also won a 2nd consecutive Toulon tournament last night too, it looks like St George's Park is finally coming to Fruition. To say that the best players don't play in these tournaments isn't true at all.

Whatever, it is a World Cup and England won it. All you can ever do is win what you are competing for. Well done Jake. To listen to some they question how good he is, well I suppose he's as good as any 19 year old. He's not been exposed to too much adult football but I thought he did well for us and was learning all the time. I'm proud that BRFC played a small part in helping him develop and get better. If he was the finished article then I guess he would be playing in the PL but he's learning and he has done that at Rovers. He's an U-20 World Cup winner and you can't take that away from him. Well done and I hope we see him back with us for next year because he will be better. UTG!

To say that the best players don't play in these tournaments isn't true at all. [b At the time they wouldn't have been deemed the best, or there teams wouldn't have been competing at the under 21 tournament. Obviously the U21 will get first pick and players like Abraham have already moved up to them. Rashford is already in the senior team, but obviously that's because the U20'S didn't want him??? I'm not saying no top player can play in it. Just some of the players have already moved up and no team would have had the best squad they could have had. I did say it shows we have got a lot of good talent coming through. We have players playing for the senior and U21'S, who could have made us stronger. Yet we still won the tournament, so I agree the youth set up of England and a lot of clubs in England is working. But it's still hard to judge us against the other side's in it. As not many of the teams in the Euro U21 tournament, would have had there strongest team in this tournament. I'm sure if a lot of the players you mentioned were 20 and there U21'S were playing, they would have been with that squad, unless they developed late. A lot would have been younger at the time, or there U21'S didn't qualify.

Surprised you're not arguing we also didn't win the World Cup in 1966 as we only won thanks to a dodgy linesman #giveitarest

Surprised you're not arguing we also didn't win the World Cup in 1966 as we only won thanks to a dodgy linesman #giveitarest Why would I. I said we did well to win it. Just said people were going over the top saying we would win the world cup now, that they should be promoted to the senior team and comparing it to the world cup win in 66! I'm pleased we win it, they did well and it shows we have a good depth of players coming through, however most of the top teams, including us didn't have there strongest squad for the tournament. That's all I said, but you can't have an opinion on here,I forgot that lol.
