Having been at the Fans’ Forum organised by the Supporters Club I was pleasantly reassured by what was said and, more importantly perhaps, by how it was said. Abdullatif AlSaeed came across well as a businessman and deferred to Matt Taylor, George Friend and Antony Evans on football matters. He noticeably did not defer to Tom Gorringe on business matters but did put him on the spot re historic decisions. He had obviously made plans and is trying to stick to them. It’s not his or Matt Taylor’s fault that so many players’ contracts expire this summer requiring a reset. It’s not insignificant imo that George Friend was appointed before and present at the forum. He and Chris Spendlove will be doing scouting for recruitment. Matt Taylor will have input I imagine but it won’t all be on MT’s shoulders. Like others I am now very watered off at our recent performances but it has to be said we have created chances and been thwarted by ‘worldy’ saves and bad luck as well as our own crap play. The overreaction from certain fans waters me off more though. Time for support now more than ever. Whilst I’m moaning - please can people make more of an effort to spell names correctly? I’m severely dyslexic and struggled to learn to read and write, let alone spell - my wife taught me the alphabet on honeymoon! My own name is rarely spelt correctly by newcomers so perhaps I’m oversensitive? Maybe a spellchecker could be applied to this forum for the player’s names and a few others? Dan Hargraves - not Hargreaves. Luke McCormick - not McCormack as the plonker on Radio Bristol says. Antony Evans - not Anthony James Connolly - not Connelly or others Sam Finley - not Finlay or others The list goes on but those are the ones I recall today. It doesn’t take long to check (or put a ? in if not sure). It’s common decency to get somebody’s name right. UTG! Very fair points made about spelling matters and pronunciation, but try having a name like mine!!!! Kind regards John Malyckyj (pronounced Malitski) Thanks for clearing that up. In my head I've only ever been able to read your name as John My Jet Ski.

I think that's why we shouldn't panic and enter a meltdown just yet. We are safe, none of the squad are as committed as they would be if we were at the top or bottom, and I think a lot of people are going bananas about it at the moment. We have terrible current form but the season as a whole isn't a disaster. And MT contributed to our safety until it went t!ts up recently. The lack of goals is surely a concern, how long can the run last? I wonder what potential signings consider before joining a club, I'm not sure I'd be rushing join a club this summer with such a record. A half decent striker might back himself to score once next season making him our top scorer?

It's a lot of bread to fork out and I wonder rye they dough it. Use your loaf mate. It's a good deal no matter how you slice it.

Absolutely under normal circumstances, completely agree. However, you could link the players to their agent to Jennings to Barton. Its a bit incestuous. What's JB or the players going to gain from Rovers losing games and MT getting the sack, it's not like JB's ever going to return as manager or will ever manage his former players in the future, he maybe in touch with them and they are telling him it's now cr@p at Rovers, but that can happen in all walks of life. As we've seen, Barton is a cult leader who gets faithful followers no matter the mental gymnastics or consequences. Plenty on here still defend him no matter what he says or does even though he's gone and isn't coming back. It's bizarre, but there it is.

x.com/Joey7Barton/status/1777975134579519986Surely at some point this behaviour breaches contract and we can stop paying him? Absolutely crass how he is carrying on with these public attacks on his former(current) employer and Taylor. every now and again he adds something like "I cant speak about that stuff until Jan 2025"...f.uck that Joey lad carry on and we can get your grifter wages off the payroll. Id hate to know how much we are paying him. Thought he said he was working for free??

If we didn't already have Barton on the payroll, I'd say yeah get rid, but can we really afford to have all these people picking up a wage for doing nothing? Bizarre tactics apart, it's the players who have downed tools & the scouse mafia need to be shipped out along with the malign, cigar stubbing influence of the Xhibitionist! Cut out the cancer over the summer. Let MT & GF do their best & see where we are in October. It's a keep but only a marginal one for me. Yeah, I still flip flop between that and get rid. I think I need to change my vote to undecided again.

A lot of people from all points of view have either got to breaking point or are incredibly close. Ultimately the actions of one man in February 2021 has set the club on course for this moment. I find it quite baffling that he and others don't cop more stick on here. WAQ's last appointment was the most divisive in the clubs history and saw one person ultimately take over the whole football part of the business and destroy it from within. It was built in Barton's image and was made to break when he left. The appointment of Taylor has frankly been poor, the length of time it took was embarrassing and the season has been saved pretty much by the league being appalling. The club has stagnated over the last 8 years, there's been very little improvement for supporters. The South Stand was the bare minimum that should have been achieved in the AQ tenure and, he didn't manage to finish it while sole owner. For me that decision in February 2021 was the sliding doors moment, nearly every argument since and our current path can be traced back to that absolutely idiotic moment. I could not agree more. I think we may look back on Taylor as someone who was just there to break up the post Barton era, setting things up for a new manager to have a proper clean slate.

Nonsense. Nobody but for a few posters on here think we’re anywhere near a ‘tipping point’. The vast majority of the fan base realise this isn’t his squad and he needs the summer to change things. Still think it's nonsense? Must admit, I thought the Poll results would be much closer than they are. It seems Taylor has very little support from the fans now.

It seems like Taylor has lost the dressing room, however many of those players will likely be gone in the summer.
Can Taylor get in a squad who WILL play for him?
Having lost a lot of the fans already I'm no longer so sure that he can.
Reluctantly, I think I'm going to vote Sack.

Playing brown and McCormack up front was a recipe for disaster , what on earth was Taylor thing, blind Freddy could see that would never work. McCormack was a disgrace tonight and should be shown the door Brown has been utter sh**e for 3 managers.

If Taylor stays I reckon 90% of this squad needs to go. It's obvious they aren't/won't play for him. We have to get rid of them all or get rid of him. It's Penny all over again. Back Taylor and clear out the bad apples. it's not bad apples.its the guy who has made them bad. get rid Maybe. I still maintain that half way into a season, good professionals don't just turn this bad. It's evident they are not playing for Taylor. If we let them get a manager sacked (ala Penny) then that's a very dangerous president to set.

Well thought I'd go along tonight as I don't get much chance to at the moment with two young kids and wish I hadn't. The ground was absolutely dead. No queues for the bar. Acres of space in the stands. Whatever the attendance figure given was you could knock 2k off that as season ticket holders clearly aren't going. Terrible starting lineup. Brown as a lone striker was never going to work. Too many midfielders but we had no outlet at all. Slightly better second half with the triple sub but the damage was already done. Taylor should have had the balls to make the changes after half an hour. The squad is so imbalanced no wonder certain players don't seem to give a sh** as there's little jeopardy of getting dropped. We've got an abundance of midfielders yet we've got one left back. At centre half we're playing Connolly who looks way out of his depth at L1. And what happened to the days when squads had four strikers? Martin's 35 so clearly can't do 90 mins Sat/Tue yet with Marquis not in the squad we've got nothing else. I was "Taylor in" and give him a window but I can see us taking this form into next season, sacking him after 6 games and then bringing in a new man who once again can't get his own players. If Taylor stays I reckon 90% of this squad needs to go. It's obvious they aren't/won't play for him. We have to get rid of them all or get rid of him. It's Penny all over again. Back Taylor and clear out the bad apples.

When Coughlan left and we went into free fall after the appointment of Garner - we were told to give him chance to rebuild with a new philosophy in the summer. Remind me, did that go well??? It ended with Barton getting us relegated.

They are all Duff. The players should be ashamed. Any player who has something about them should be doing better, regardless of the manager. True , but and pains me to say it but JB got a better tune out of them , not to mention Mangan who I quite liked. Yeah, I thought Mangan did more than enough to have been given the job to be honest.

Was going to give MT time , but seems were breaking unwanted records now , and tactics for tonight were awful. Knew we had to shape it up first half , and does nothing.
Body language ...awful . Motivation ...non existent. You might be a nice guy Matt but tonight was just a bridge too far. Duff anyone?

It's all well and good calling for Taylor to go, but does anyone trust the people in charge to find a replacement?
It took them 2 months to get Taylor in didn't it?
I'm not sure I'd trust them to run down the shops for a bag of crisps.

Not really but could not care a toss about the Champions league. Don’t know why you bother coming on here. He won't be back if he carries on the way he's going Dave.
