It is forecast to be -1c when they start the match. I have never really taken notice of temperatures at kick off. Does that mean the pitch will be frozen when they kick off?

The thread is descending into a Monty Python sketch.

Myself and my mate were students at the time. We went to the shop in Kingswood and asked what we needed to buy tickets for the Twerton Game. She said season ticket holders only. We asked if we bought season tickets could we buy tickets for Liverpool, she said yes. So we immediately bought two season tickets. Job done for both matches. As I remember it you had to go to a specific league game (Tranmere I think it was) to get a voucher. Or maybe that was something else. Anyway I got ticket for Anfield from the Kingswood office one way or another. I don't think they did a voucher system. But the draw put a thousand on the gate for out next home game as people thought there would be vouchers.

Dropped the club an email at 1740, had a call at 1840 and a Thatcher's ticket by 1847. Cracking response from the club, can't fault them, thanks to Ethan and Chloe for their attention and consideration. If you think this is bad, try getting Liverpool tickets (if they get through that is) I remember the last time, it was hell, even as a season ticket holder at Trumpton, it was hell and relied on a friend of a friend to obtain one. Probably the best game I have been to for atmosphere. Attendance given as 22000 but more like 25000 with people locked out.

Do anyone think we will finish work and get it signed off ; allowing more tickets for Pompey game ?. Or is this it ?. I’m hoping we can get at least 50% of the stand open by using the match as a test event, depends on how much work is still required on the concourse I guess. As I understand you cannot charge entrance fee for a test event and if you let people into new stand v Portsmouth you will upset season ticket holders.

We should change our name to The Gas, that would resolve the problem!

I reckon we'd have got 250,000 if we had the space. And with 50,000 locked out Portsmouth are top of the league They are potentially the best supported team in our division We are the fourth closed team to them geographically in the league It is a Boxing Day fixture. If we gave them 6000 tickets they would sell them. We have sold our home tickets 11 days before the game. I am sure we would have sold another 4 or 5000 leading up to the game. I don't think we could have sold 250,00 IMHO
