Griffin Park.Saw us win there ,Don Megson playing. Mem so needs better disabled facilities but not sure if the new stand will cater in any way for this.So chuffed the awful tent has now gone though.Roll on August. Griffin Park was my longest journey to football match circa. 1988. I came directly from Plovdiv (Bulgaria) via 2 coaches a plane and 2 tubes and met by mate in the toilets at half time.
On a gloomier note I was also there on the day of the Hillborough disaster.
I would just like to add, after reading my post, that we needed a meeting point and time (mobile phones has not been invented) and toilets at half time seemed the obvious arrangement, just in case you were wondering!

Does the new stand mean we will lose the record for going the longest without building a new permanent structure at any of our grounds in the football league?

Not sure if anyone saw the drama series about the Brinks Matt gold bullion robbery in the early 80's. I knew John Palmer lived in Wick Wick but I couldn't remember that the money laundering centre was in Bedminster! By the law of averages the benefits of crime must have been paid to Ashton Gate. Dirty money buying pints in the local, fags and papers at the newsagents etc,etc who must have had dealing with City fans. Funny how it co-incides with their rise from bankruptcy! I believe Ian Willmott actually worked at the Bedminster branch of Barclays where they were depositing the dirty money - probably a few years before I guess. Not so long ago Andy Llewellyn was convicted of passing info to local gangs when he found out that families on his post rounds were on their hols when he worked as a postman. Not that we are totally spotless. There was the player who played under Buckle? in a league cup game who got done for match fixing in conference south and in the 60s Million and Williams. I remember a panarama type programme featuring a sting at a game when a Rovers fan got caught by the police as they knew he went to games and had avoided capture at other known locations. Takes all sorts I suppose. And don't forget Any Spring

Thanks everybody for your advice. My bank statement showed the transaction the day after I visited the shop. I find it difficult to get to the shop when I am working, I am not off again until Monday when the car goes in for service. So all things considered I decided to pay the fine. I got away with £60. So I will not go to the next 3 games I was going to which takes me up to Charlton. So essentially I will not be out of pocket but BRFC will (unless they sell out all games). That is my one man protest!

Does anyone have any experience of this situation.
I popped in to buy a christmas present. I obviously forgot to enter my reg into the machine and have just received a parking charge dated 19.12.22 (due to postal strike I guess) for £100 (to late for the £60 within 14 days).
Any previous experience or advice would be appreciated.
If I have to pay it. I just won't go to the Mem for the rest of the season so as to recoup my money.

This should be easy as it is a sell out. Therefore I have no idea. I think we may have increased our secret capacity.

"Staying put is far more unrealistic than aiming for a new stadium elsewhere"
The point I am making is that the rate we have gone in the last 70 years we could do both.
