Im starting to think she is more mellow without KB , good nights work from her bar telling me the s*** were winning! Strange how she suddenly raises her voice for pretty dull things like a throw in or reading out a score from another game though. It’s like she can’t pick her times to sound excited. Very weird, but she’s doing her best and you’ve got to start somewhere and radio Bristol is probably the lowest tier of radio. It's a very difficult job but I think she was poor, calls too many things wrong (e.g Harvey Vaughan instead of Harry, saying we were in 11th place when we were 10th, thinking Evans had been sent off etc)

How many times have we played Stevenage, where we've been the underdog? Tonight we will be. I don't like SE but you have to give him credit, he's turned Stevenage into potential Championship candidates on far less a budget we pay out. Can't see anything other than a regulation defeat 1 or 2-0. Castrated-Foreskin will have a field day tonight. He looked pretty useful down here. Safe journey for all those brave souls travelling, but I thoroughly expect us to be in second half of the division by 10 pm tonight Our record v them isn't great with just 1 win and 3 defeats in 6 24 Nov 2015 Bristol Rovers v Stevenage L 1-2 League Two 19 Apr 2016 Stevenage v Bristol Rovers D 0-0 League Two 08 Jan 2020 Bristol Rovers v Stevenage L 0-1 Football League Trophy 14 Aug 2021 Bristol Rovers v Stevenage L 0-2 League Two 19 Feb 2022 Stevenage v Bristol Rovers W 0-4 League Two 24 Oct 2023 Bristol Rovers v Stevenage D 1-1 League One

Building more sheds with seats isn't going to grow the fanbase much. Like it or not football is also a 'middle-class' sport nowadays and these customers, especially the well-off families, demand a level of comfort that the Memorial Ground does not offer. There are plenty of families and professionally employed people in North Bristol & South Gloucestershire who would enjoy a Saturday afternoon at the football, but not at the Mem unless the stadium facilities and general match-day experience is drastically brought up to date. A new modern East Stand is needed with the appropriate facilities, anything less is just a bodge and probably a waste of money. Let’s wait and see what the plans are like. If it turns out to be a wrap around of the south stand then yes it would be underwhelming. However I firstly don’t think that’s feasible, and secondly I think supporters underestimate what’s possible with an extension and refresh. On feasibility - if they try to extend the south stand around they’d impede on the sight lines from the east stand. We’ve seen what you get if you try and do that, the old bolted on family stand. It would reduce capacity. I think it’s a non starter altogether - you’d lose out on more capacity than you would add. To do it they have to get a roof up to the level of the East Stand. Surely cantilever is the way to go for this. I don’t believe for one second it’ll be like the south stand. On what’s achievable they can include ample facilities in the extended sections. New bars, eating areas. They’ll need to do something as our equivalent to the concourse in the form of the top level standing areas where the pasty huts are will have been removed. They can put a new back section in with lifts for less able supporters - all sorts. You never know they might even replace the roof entirely for the existing sections and cover the as is terracing properly. If the improvement on the south stand is the marker for the level of improvement from a scale factor that we will see in the enhanced areas then I think we’ll be pleasantly surprised. If we’re expecting 30k at the Mem built incrementally then I’m afraid you will always be disappointed in the short to medium term. Itll never happen. Better off going My understanding is all the office based staff will be moving to the Quarters, Changing rooms, showers, etc will then be brought over to the East Stand. The "add on bits" will extend further back into the car park, my expectation is they will also build on the back of the existing stand enabling the roof to be higher all along the old and new bits giving improved hospitality at the back of the East stand. So an entirely new roof. I would hope that the seats in the existing will be replaced to match with the add on sections. Looking forward to seeing the plans as I cannot imagine how the East stand will meet with the South. I think we will be waiting a while though as the letter does say " We will share our designs and plans once we have obtained all the necessary approvals."

Nail on head here. The teams that do come down from the champ to L1 are usually either the smaller ones, Rotherham for example, the tradition bounce clubs, Barnsley, P'boro, and a basket case club, like a Sheff W, Reading. There is only 1 team currently the same size as us in the champ and that is Rotherham and they are bottom by +15 points and with a better stadium than us, albeit similar in terms of capacity. Teams like Luton and Brentford stabalised, competed and got promoted from the championship because of their management structures within the club at board level, football operations level and then at pitch level. For HAS to come out and say "championship in 3 years" is fine, but he also needs to say how. What is he/the board going to do personally to make sure it happens? What does it mean if we dont make it? Will he walk away because he has run out of money? It's pretty clear to me that the attempt to hike ticket prices means he wants more revenue. The fact WC is only on a part time contract says to me that he hasnt got the ££ to invest in the footballing side this season or beyond. Should he have said that in 3 years our ambitious goal was to be stagnating in League 1 ? I'm pleased they've got ambitions, and didn't expect everything to be spelled out in a single open letter. Many people on here have hoped for a sustainable future, so whether the owners have buckets of cash or not, the sensible solution is to attempt to increase the capacity and build gradually within our means. People wanted communication and some vision, the more optimistic amongst us will believe the championship in 3 years is achievable. It's almost like some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy about something The trouble is, we have heard it all before. Barton was supposed to take us up either this season or next. I just don't buy it anymore. Would have been better to have left that line out of the letter or not put a time line on it

Can't see what the fuss is about. Everything in the letter had already been said in the previous interviews with RB and ITV. However the narrative has altered regarding the FM stadium and saying Championship in 3 years is just flannel as was saying the target was the Premier League previously.
This summer will just be another cycle of new players not being together from the start of pre season and taking a couple of months to "gel"
Also no one said previously the stadium would be 18k but 16-17k

Return of Ryan Broome. But looks like fans' favourite Shaun Rooney won't be playing. Shame. Broom and Stockley both made this week L1 team of week. Ward and Christina make the ELF team of the week as well as the League 1 team of the week

Looking forward to see the 'Barista Wizard' in action and as you say hopefully not too many changes from the weekend. Biggest concerns are obviously Wilson and Friend - MT mentioned how important they are sorting things at the back so ideally he will want one of them on for the first 45 minutes i expect. Wont be surprised to see Baggott and Gordon replace them though. Everywhere else on the pitch picks itself at the moment. No way will Gordon start in a back three, more likely to use Beefy

As promised here is the response to my phone call today regarding changing my ST from the West terrace to the new South stand. Basically for us fans living a great distance away from the Mem it can only be done by visiting the club shop on any day bar a matchday. This is because it’s a manual process and there is no other way around it. So this in my case entails a 200 mile round trip to do this on any day bar a matchday. So the club are basically saying bugger you long distance ST holders for not wanting to drive to the Mem outwith a matchday to changeover your ST. What customer service is that! Poor . Standard for Bristol Rovers, appalling for the rest of us

We're still 13 points off of the magic 50. I'd take a team of 11 loanies if it gets us to that point and then rebuild in the summer. We're light on numbers and lost our player with most assists so can't see the problem myself. No way are we going down, and no way we are getting playoffs. The problem is we are back to square one next season and come January we are all here moaning we have got 4-5 loan players and we still haven't signed JCH (lol). We should have used January to start building, Even Darrell Clark has just bought a young lad from Bath City on a 2 1/2 year deal, Bristol City a kid from Aldershot 3 year Deal. And us lets put a plaster over it and get a couple of loans in! its insanity. The Club needs to wake up. We still have a lot of games left this season and at the very least (as we appear to be going nowhere) I want to be entertained so hopefully that is what we will get from this lad. We could be sat on an extra 9 points at 5.30pm next Saturday after 3 winnable games this week and the new guys may just contribute to that. We may start looking up again if that happens....
